A player of the Resident Evil 3 remake has discovered a peculiar glitch that allows Jill Valentine to visit a unique barber shop for parasites, resulting in her losing her hair. This glitch is specifically tied to one of the death scenes in the game.
The remake of Resident Evil 3 introduced several death scenes for players who are unable to fend off the zombie menace. With numerous ways for Nemesis to eliminate players, such as having their necks bitten off by zombies, being devoured by Gamma Hunters, or facing the final boss's impressive knife skills, the game offers an abundance of ways to bring about the demise of Jill Valentine, the protagonist. Among the various threats encountered during the middle stages of the game, the Nemesis Alpha zombie poses a significant danger. This particular variant of the typical zombie enemy wields a tentacle that can be used to launch long-range attacks against Jill.
A player named Chiken079 discovered a bug in Resident Evil 3 that caused Jill to lose her hair during the death scene with the Nemesis Alpha. Surprisingly, instead of attacking her further, the parasite simply removed her hair, leaving Jill devastated and lacking the will to live without her iconic hairstyle. This behavior is quite unexpected for a typical Resident Evil monster.
In the intended death scene, Jill is supposed to be consumed by the Nemesis Alpha parasite and transform into one of the game's enemies. However, the bug occurs when the parasite opens its mouth to devour Jill's head and assimilate her. Players of Resident Evil 3 will quickly notice that instead of proceeding with the transformation, the parasite reverts back to its original form, a zombie that previously fought against Jill. It remains in this state, mouth agape, while Jill continues to struggle before ultimately succumbing to the parasite.
The r/residentevil community couldn't resist making comical remarks about Jill's hair loss. Some players jokingly proposed that the beloved character had been wearing a wig all along and perished from sheer embarrassment. Others expressed gratitude that it was Jill and not Leon S. Kennedy from Resident Evil 2 who experienced this misfortune. For certain players, the thought of Leon losing his magnificent hair, famously flaunted in the Resident Evil 4 remake, would be a fate worse than death.
Resident Evil 3 can be played on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
