Similar to previous Zelda games, Tears of the Kingdom concludes with a climactic showdown between Link and Ganondorf. The final battle consists of four stages, with the last one being mostly cinematic and incredibly difficult to lose. However, the first three stages progressively increase in challenge, as Ganondorf not only mimics Link's moves but also adds a few extra surprises. This encounter's overall design has received high praise from players, who consider it a flawless amalgamation of two distinct gameplay styles.

As with any other battle in the game, the difficulty of defeating Ganondorf is directly linked to the player's level of preparedness. Reddit user CaperKnight demonstrated this perfectly by defeating the final boss in just over 50 seconds. They achieved this by utilizing six Gibdo Claymores, crafted by combining a Gibdo Bone—a highly underrated fuse material from Tears of the Kingdom—with a Royal Guard Claymore, preferably the Pristine variant found in The Depths.

The resulting weapon boasts a base attack power of 79, which CaperKnight further increased by ensuring each claymore they used during the fight was at its very last bit of durability. It's worth noting that all weapons in the game deal double damage on their final strike. Additionally, CaperKnight faced Ganondorf while wearing the complete set of Evil Spirit Armor from Tears of the Kingdom, which enhances Link's proficiency with bone weapons and adds an extra 80% damage.

Upon the start of the encounter, the player swiftly hurled their stack of almost destroyed Gibdo Claymores at Ganondorf, defeating him within mere seconds when disregarding cutscenes and loading times. In each stage of the fight with Ganondorf's human form, only two claymores were required to strike him down. CaperKnight then swiftly proceeded to the sequence where Link battles Ganondorf in his dragon form.

Obtaining both Gibdo Bones and Royal Guard Claymores is not overly challenging by the time one reaches the conclusion of Tears of the Kingdom. Therefore, any player facing Ganondorf as the final boss should have no difficulty replicating this strategy if they encounter significant trouble.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on Switch.
