They are guided by a team of highly skilled ex-special forces operatives. The cast includes a number of familiar faces from reality TV, such as Blac Chyna from Rob and Chyna, Tyler Cameron from The Bachelorette, Savannah Chrisley from Chrisley Knows Best, Jack Osbourne from Ozzy & Jack's World Detour, Tom Sandoval from Vanderpump Rules, and Nick Viall from The Bachelor.

Joining the crew will be actors Brian Austin Green (known for his role in Beverly Hills, 90210) and Siwa (from The J Team), as well as actress Tara Reid (from Josie and the Pussycats) and lifestyle blogger Kelly Rizzo, who was previously married to Bob Saget until his passing in January 2022.

The 16 stars are set to receive training from a team of ex-special forces operatives known as Directing Staff (DS) agents. This elite team consists of Rudy Reyes, Mark "Billy" Billingham, Jason "Foxy" Fox, and Remi Adeleke. Unlike other reality shows, the stars will not face elimination or voting. They can only leave the show voluntarily, due to failure or potential injury or by force from the DS. Fox teases, "The only way out is on their own accord or through the DS's intervention."

Special Forces: World's Toughest Test is his latest venture into reality TV, following his appearance on Pump Rules season 10 reunion. His long-term relationship with Ariana Madix came to an end in March when she discovered his affair with fellow cast member Raquel Leviss. As Sandoval continues filming season 11 of VPR, Leviss' involvement with the Bravo reality show remains uncertain due to her time at a mental health treatment facility.
