A Fallout 4 player has recently discovered a strange bug in the game, where a certain area in Boston is lacking water and falling into it results in instant death. While players still encounter bugs, like turning the character Nick Valentine into a Jet addict, this particular bug is exceptionally peculiar.
Bethesda, the developer of Fallout 4, is known for two things: creating expansive and enjoyable gaming worlds, and having a multitude of bugs within them. When Fallout 4 was released in 2015, it received positive reviews from numerous critics. However, gamers inevitably stumbled upon various bizarre bugs in Fallout 4. This is to be expected in large-scale games, as it is practically impossible for developers, no matter how skilled, to eliminate all potential variables that could lead to glitches before a game's launch. Nevertheless, it appears that some bugs have persisted throughout the years.
A player named CubicalFudgel recently discovered a missing water zone in Fallout 4. In this zone, if players jump or swim, they will fall to their death. CubicalFudgel shared a short clip revealing the exact location of this hidden bug near the ruins of Forest Grove Marsh. The community was amazed by this discovery and some players tried to replicate the bug by killing their main characters. Star_Shine32 confirmed the issue, breaking the two legs of their Lv.105 character. Interestingly, they did not die from the fall damage due to their high level and were able to walk until they found water again. CubicalFudgel also mentioned finding another "empty water" spot near Thicket Excavations, but provided no evidence.
Bethesda is determined to ensure that the upcoming Starfield does not encounter the same bug-related issues that have plagued their previous titles. According to Xbox head Matt Booty, Starfield is expected to have significantly fewer bugs than other games from Bethesda, promising a seamless experience from the very beginning. However, only time will tell if this pledge holds true, considering that Starfield is set to be the largest game ever created by the company, thus potentially increasing the likelihood of encountering unusual glitches. While Fallout 4 is already accessible on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, upgraded versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are set to release in 2023.
