An imaginative Starfield enthusiast has crafted a stunning design for an Xbox Series X console that seamlessly incorporates the game's NASA-punk technology style. During the recent Xbox Games Showcase, Todd Howard, the game director, provided an in-depth 45-minute demonstration of Starfield's extensive gameplay features and systems, which included various physical collector's items and accessories. One of the most exciting reveals was the Constellation Edition, which grants players access to a real-life Chronomark Watch, identical to the one used by the player character in the game, along with a sleek storage case. The accessories line-up also includes a limited edition wireless Xbox headset and controller, both adorned with the game's signature white NASA-punk aesthetic.
A fan has taken their love for Starfield and the Xbox Series X to the next level by designing a mockup of what a Starfield-themed console could look like. Dreamer360X shared four images on Twitter, showcasing their design which features a white base color to match the official headset and controller, as well as gray topographical lines that have been a prominent visual motif in Starfield's art. The console's design also includes a quad-colored stripe around the Xbox button, similar to the one on the controller, and the logo of Constellation, the in-game organization, on the left side of the console. Additionally, there is a disc-sized circle above the disc drive that reads "scan started," and the rest of the console is adorned with red and gray lines and switches reminiscent of old NASA-style control panels.
The Halo Series X was the only first-party Xbox title to receive the Xbox Series X special edition console treatment, coinciding with the release of Halo Infinite in 2021. Its design featured a starry night sky and boxy golden lines on a dark background. As Bethesda Game Studios' highly anticipated 1,000-planet space epic, Starfield, is set to release on September 6 for PC and Xbox Series X|S, fans are eagerly anticipating a potential Starfield Series X special edition console. It remains to be seen if it will resemble Dreamer's white design or take a different visual approach, but with the Halo Series X already unveiled at Gamescom's Opening Night Live in 2021, it's possible that the official Starfield iteration of the console could be unveiled at this year's show, just weeks ahead of the game's launch.
