Introduction to Ubisoft+
Ubisoft, a key player in the gaming industry, has recently made waves with its announcement of major changes to its Ubisoft+ subscription service. This move is aimed at enhancing the offerings of the subscription service and addressing the feedback from users regarding its high price and lack of variety compared to other gaming services like Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus.

Ubisoft+ is a subscription service that offers users access to a library of games in exchange for a monthly payment. The service has previously featured day-one releases of major games such as Assassin's Creed Mirage, aiming to attract more subscribers. However, users have expressed concerns about the price point and the range of available games. In response to this, Ubisoft has unveiled its plans to revamp the service and introduce new tiers to cater to a wider audience.
New Tiers and Benefits
In its latest announcement, Ubisoft detailed the introduction of two new tiers for Ubisoft+. The first is the Ubisoft+ Premium tier, which consolidates the previous Multi-Access and PC Access plans. Priced at $17.99 per month, the Premium tier offers subscribers day-one releases, select early-access titles, monthly rewards, Ubisoft's back catalog of games, and more. Subscribers will have access to these benefits across PC, Xbox, and Amazon Luna.
The second new tier, Ubisoft+ Classics, is designed for PC users and provides access to popular Ubisoft titles like Rainbow Six Siege and Far Cry 6 for $7.99 per month. Ubisoft has also assured subscribers that more games will be added to this tier over time, and it is included for those who subscribe to PlayStation+ Extra or PlayStation+ Premium. Additionally, existing subscribers of Ubisoft+ PC Access can maintain their plan at the previous price point.
Future Plans and Game Releases
The early-access release of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown on the newly launched Ubisoft+ Premium tier marks a significant milestone for the service. This move allows subscribers to enjoy the game ahead of its official release, providing added value to the Premium tier. While the future lineup of day-one and early-access releases on Ubisoft+ Premium is yet to be fully disclosed, fans can anticipate the inclusion of major Ubisoft titles as part of the offering.
Furthermore, Ubisoft briefly mentioned the arrival of the Activision Blizzard catalog of games on Ubisoft+. Following Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft has secured cloud streaming rights to these games. Although the details are still forthcoming, Ubisoft has expressed its commitment to bringing these games to the Ubisoft+ platform, offering subscribers access to an even more extensive range of titles.
