Travis Kelce, the 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs star, has given a sneak peek into his upcoming hosting debut. He will be hosting the new game show called Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, a title that was exclusively announced by We on April 3. Kelce shared that his love for this type of show inspired him to be a part of this project.

Kelce expressed his excitement about hosting his very first game show, "Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?", following in the footsteps of TV icons. He mentioned that the original show was a huge success, and he is thrilled to bring a new format with favorite celebrities to the screen.

The original version of the show, "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?", was hosted by Jeff Foxworthy on Fox for four seasons from 2007 to 2009. Later on, the show was syndicated and rebooted for a Nickelodeon version hosted by John Cena, which aired for one season in 2019. Kelce's show will be airing on Prime Video.

Kelce expressed his excitement about being the host and looks forward to seeing how well the famous faces perform.

Prime Video announced that Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? will feature contestants answering 11 grade-school-level questions with assistance from a classroom full of celebrities.

The participating celebrities have not been announced yet. If they can answer the final question correctly, they will win $100,000.

In the original version of the show, instead of celebrities, fifth-grade students were helping adult contestants answer easy questions.

"We wanted to put a new spin on the format of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? after creating over 3,000 episodes worldwide," the show's cocreator mentioned in a statement. "By swapping out the kids for celebrities, we aim to bring more humor and surprises to the show, similar to a roast, as contestants try to sneak glances at their famous classmates. With Travis Kelce, the ultimate class clown, as our host, viewers can look forward to unexpected twists!"

According to a source who spoke exclusively to We, Kelce had already signed the deal to host the show before his public image skyrocketed due to his relationship with Taylor Swift. However, he remains committed to "honoring the contract."

The source added that “several test episodes” would be shot so that the show “doesn’t embarrass him.”

A premiere date for Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? has not been announced.
