Travis Kelce is expanding his skills as he takes on the role of game show host. According to an industry insider in the latest issue of We, production is in progress for Amazon Prime's new competition series, which is currently named Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity. The 34-year-old Kelce will be the host of the show.
The show, inspired by the Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader series, will have contestants competing against a panel of three celebrities. An insider shared with Us that Kelce will start rehearsing and receiving media coaching in the next few weeks, and production will kick off this summer.
Although it might come as a surprise for Kelce to be hosting, the source revealed that the agreement was made "long before Travis' popularity surged, and now he must fulfill the contract. [They will film] multiple trial episodes to refine the show and Kelce's performance to ensure he doesn't feel embarrassed."
We tried contacting Amazon Prime but did not receive a response before this was published.
In March, it was reported by Deadline that the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs was in discussions to host a revival of the game show. Following the announcement of Kelce's participation, Steve Harvey, the host of Family Feud, shared some advice for the NFL player.

"Well, Travis Kelce better watch out because he might not be as sharp as a fifth grader," Harvey, 67, shared exclusively with Us in March. "I've been on Family Feud for so long because I know I'm not the smartest one in the room. I just wait for you to slip up, and then I take advantage of that opportunity."
While Kelce is famous for his football career, he has shown interest in exploring the entertainment industry. In 2016, he even had his own dating show on E!, called Catching Kelce.
One month after Kelce and Taylor Swift confirmed their relationship, they both appeared together on the season 49 premiere of Saturday Night Live.
During a press conference in January, Kelce mentioned how lucky he felt to explore opportunities outside of the sports world. He expressed his enjoyment of being on camera and how the SNL appearance opened up a new sense of happiness and potential career path for him. Despite his successful career in sports, he found it amusing to consider this new direction at this stage of his life.
Kelce, the Super Bowl LVIII winner, expressed his continued passion for competing on the field, stating that he sees no reason to stop. He emphasized his love for the game and highlighted the ongoing success of his team.
