Travis Kelce watches Hallmark movies.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end admitted it on his “New Heights” podcast in an episode that aired Wednesday, April 24.
During a conversation with his friend and comedian Andrew Santino, 34-year-old Kelce received a surprising revelation. The topic of discussion was Lindsay Lohan's Netflix film Irish Wish. Santino, who is 40 years old, mentioned that his wife is a fan of Hallmark movies. He then turned the conversation towards Kelce by asking, "Are you a Hallmark guy, Trav?"
Kelce confessed, "I dabble now, yeah."
Taylor Swift fans noticed that Kelce used to claim he didn't watch TV or movies before he began dating the pop star. Some speculate that Swift, who is also 34, may be the reason Kelce now enjoys watching Hallmark movies.
"He mentioned to Tay that he doesn't watch TV or movies anymore. We all assumed Taylor would be making him watch sophisticated, artistic independent films. But no, it's actually Hallmark movies and Love is Blind."
Kelce's preference seems to lean more towards hometown pride - if anyone believes that.
The Chiefs veteran, who has been with the team since 2013, has played a key role in winning three Super Bowls and revitalizing the franchise.
Santino suggested, "Since you enjoy playing cards, you may also enjoy watching movies."
Kelce jokingly mentioned his 11-year presence and expressed his admiration for the Kansas City brand. He also revealed his love for Hallmark movies, sparking potential career avenues after his football days. With his brother Jason retiring from the NFL at 36, Kelce, a three-time champion, is aware that his playing career is reaching its conclusion.
Travis has already shown his skills as an executive producer on podcasts like "New Heights" and the 2014 film "My Dead Friend Zoe." Recently, he revealed plans to work with the same team on a documentary about artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.
In the future, Travis may venture into creating or even acting in Hallmark movies. He has expressed interest in pursuing acting opportunities after his sports career, mentioning his time on Saturday Night Live as a source of inspiration.
He expressed that the experience was unlike anything he had ever experienced before. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity, as he had not anticipated enjoying scripted comedy or the entertainment industry as much as he did until he was on set and going through the preparation process for the week.
