Fans of Tracker and Supernatural were quickly updated on Jensen Ackles' character, Russell, ahead of his return in season 2.
In the season 1 finale on May 19, Colter (played by Justin Hartley) received multiple updates about his brother Russell. Colter's investigation led him to Sandy Point, where he met up with his friend Lizzie (played by Jennifer Morrison). While searching for Lizzie's daughter, Colter received a call from Reenie (played by Fiona Rene), who mentioned her efforts to locate Russell.
Reenie informed me that she spoke with her contact who is connected to Horizon, the private military contractor where Russell works. Unfortunately, he either has no information or is unwilling to share any details.
After successfully locating and safely returning Lizzie's daughter, Colter received a follow-up from Reenie regarding his older brother once the case concluded.
Reenie later shared that Russell had reached out to her, sending a selfie from a bar on a beach in Argentina. He invited her to join him for dinner in Buenos Aires, but she declined, citing her busy schedule.
In the previous episode, viewers were introduced to Russell when Colter helped him locate his missing army buddy. Before deciding to collaborate, Colter questioned Russell about their father's death years ago. Russell refuted their mother's accusations and claimed that there was another person in the woods on the night their father was found dead at the base of a cliff.
Colter learned more about his dad's mysterious murder from Lizzie, who disclosed that her mother had an affair with Colter's dad. She also mentioned that their parents had a heated argument before his death. Afterward, Lizzie discovered a hidden box filled with work belonging to Colter's dad. She then gave these items to his sister, Dory (Melissa Roxburgh), who never shared this information with Colter.
Upon hearing these revelations, Colter admitted to Lizzie that there was still much he didn't know about his family. He described feeling like he had all the pieces but couldn't make them fit together. When asked about his plans moving forward, Colter simply replied that he intended to do "nothing" for the time being. The episode concluded with Colter reminiscing about surfing in Sandy Point, a cherished childhood activity he shared with his dad.

"Sofia [Pernas], Jensen [Ackles], and Melissa [Roxburgh] are all set to make a comeback," he revealed to Collier recently.
Pernas, 34, joined the cast in March to play Colter’s ex, Billie, who had deceived him in the past for a reward.
After working with Hartley, Pernas mentioned that the episode gave a hint of a possible follow-up in the future.
She told Entertainment Tonight that she loves the character because she is cool and trying to hide her vulnerability. The contrast with another character who is self-assured and powerful adds depth to the story.
