Tori Spelling recently showed her solidarity with her ex, Dean McDermott, by 'liking' a post on Instagram that he shared regarding his sobriety journey. The gesture highlights their ongoing bond amidst their divorce proceedings.

Tori Spelling recently showed her support for her ex-husband Dean McDermott. Spelling, who is 50 years old, 'liked' a post on McDermott's Instagram on Tuesday, April 9. The post included a quote that said, “If all you did was stay sober today, you’re still winning. Keep that s–t up.”

McDermott recently shared a message on social media, expressing his pride for someone. Alongside the message, he wrote, “I’m proud of you. Nuff Said!! #cleanandsober #thesoberlife.”

Despite their split, McDermott spoke highly of having Spelling by his side during his journey to sobriety. He mentioned in an interview with Page Six in March that Tori has always been his biggest supporter and fan. McDermott emphasized that she simply wants him to be happy, and he admires her incredible support.

In March, it was confirmed that Spelling had filed for divorce from McDermott after he announced their separation on social media in June 2023. The couple shares five children: Liam (17), Stella (15), Hattie (12), Finn (11), and Beau (7).

Recently, during an episode of her “misSPELLING” podcast, Spelling shared a memory of their last argument, where she ended up throwing a Wendy’s baked potato on the floor.

Spelling revealed that her husband has threatened divorce many times, but she has never done so herself, even during times when she wanted to. She believes that it is not right to use divorce as a threat if you don't truly intend to follow through with it. She thought it was just another argument.

Before the podcast episode, McDermott shared that he was dealing with substance abuse and went to treatment after the fight.

Following his experience, McDermott mentioned that he felt motivated to become a drug and alcohol counselor.

I work in recovery today because of my personal journey through treatment and sober living. As an alcohol and drug counselor, I collaborate with various treatment centers to support individuals struggling with addiction. My goal is to guide alcoholics and addicts towards the same path of recovery that I found and continue to walk on. The work is truly gratifying.

Although McDermott was initially hesitant to try breathwork, he now credits it for transforming his life.

McDermott admitted, "I was initially unsure about it, thinking it sounded a bit too artsy. But I decided to give it a shot since I had committed to it, and to my surprise, I ended up loving it."

Despite his current focus on his newfound passion, McDermott, who was working as an actor when he met Spelling in 2005, mentioned that he is open to the idea of returning to acting in the future.

"I feel lucky to have found a talent," he shared. "I have a knack for assisting others and also for acting. It's a blessing to have two talents and two passions that I can follow in my life. So, I will keep working in drug and alcohol rehabilitation and acting. I never gave up."
