Tori Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott have a bustling household in Beverly Hills with their five children. However, their family unit extends beyond just the two of them. In an exclusive interview with We in December 2019, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum shared that with their five kids, they have to function as a cohesive unit. Their oldest child, Liam, occasionally expresses a desire for one-on-one time with his mom, wishing it was just the two of them.
Spelling, the cohost of the "90210MG" podcast and mother to sons Liam, Finn, and Beau, as well as daughters Stella and Hattie, acknowledges the challenges of managing their sizable family.
When it comes to addressing her children's need for individual attention, Spelling revealed, "I often ask them, 'Do you enjoy having siblings?' and sometimes their response is 'Sometimes'". Despite the difficulties, she assures them that in the future, they will reflect on their shared experiences and appreciate them greatly.
Tori Spelling, who is the daughter of TV legend Aaron Spelling and Candy Spelling, revealed that despite her initial intention to do separate activities with each of her five children, she often ends up doing things with the entire group alongside her husband McDermott. She further expressed her appreciation for her husband's active involvement in parenting, highlighting their close bond since they got married in 2006 after meeting on the set of Lifetime's Mind Over Murder a year earlier.
"He wakes up and rouses the girls, while I wake up the boys, and we tackle it together," she stated. "I feel incredibly fortunate to have this dynamic. When I have work commitments, he is there to support. And when he has his own professional obligations, I am there for him. We have a seamless trade-off, and it works."
Despite their strong bond, the Troop Beverly Hills star and the Open Range actor grabbed attention in 2021 when they were seen without their wedding rings. In September of that same year, McDermott explained that his wife had simply forgotten to put hers back on after washing her hands. As for his own ring, he revealed that he had misplaced it while playing golf.
In November 2021, the rumors of their split were fueled when the Slasher alum was noticeably absent from the family's holiday card. However, Tori clarified later that her spouse was out of the country filming when the picture was taken.
The following year, Dean, who also has a son named Jack with his ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace, joined their family for their annual Christmas card photo. "It's my favorite time of year!" the former Love at First Lie host wrote on Instagram in November 2022, sharing a picture of the couple with all five of their children and Tori's stepson, Jack. "And this year is extra special. We're ALL together! ❤️."
