Tori Spelling shared a heartfelt message for her mom, Candy Spelling, on Mother's Day.

She took to Instagram Stories to express her gratitude for the valuable lessons her mom has taught her throughout the years. Tori, who is 50 years old, posted a throwback photo of her mom, now 78, cradling her as a baby with the caption, "Happy Mother's Day @candyspelling ️ u."

The second photo showed the mother and daughter standing together, both dressed in black and white. Tori jokingly mentioned that she still liked their outfit choices, especially her black dress with daisies. She captioned the photo, "The wildflower & me rise."

In the next snap, Tori humorously pointed out that her mom was crouching down beside her in a formal dress. She quipped, "The flower doesn't fall far from the bush... yup, think on that one."

Candy shared Tori and son Randy Spelling with late husband Aaron Spelling. The couple were married from 1968 until his death in 2006.

Tori, known for her role in Beverly Hills, 90210, ended her tribute with a heartfelt message. She expressed gratitude for her mother's lessons in strength and resilience, as well as practical skills like setting a proper dinner party table and spotting fake purses.

Tori and her mother have been through a lot together over the years, but they are currently in a good place. In April, Candy shared that being there for her daughter after her breakup with Dean McDermott meant a great deal to her.

The former BH90210 star filed for divorce from McDermott, who is 57 years old, in March. They got married in 2006 and have five children together: Liam (17), Stella (15), Hattie (12), Finn (11), and Beau (7). (McDermott also has a son named Jack, who is 25, from a previous relationship with Mary Jo Eustace.)

In a post on Instagram in June 2023, McDermott had announced that he and Tori were no longer together, but he later deleted the message. A few months later, he admitted to the Daily Mail that he had caused "a lot of pain" during their relationship.

Tori mentioned the revelation on her "Misspelling" podcast in April. During the podcast, listeners could hear an emotional phone conversation between her and McDermott, but only Tori's side of the discussion was clear.

In the conversation, Tori expressed, "You basically shared everything with Daily Mail, like you mentioned, all the things you've put me through over the years." She believed that she had the right to be the one to file for divorce first. "So, I think it would make perfect sense that it’s followed up that I would file. Those are things I would never have shared with anyone, and you did."

Tori opened up about why she stayed married to McDermott despite their rocky past. She shared on her podcast that one of her fears was that men could feel emasculated in their relationship due to societal norms, which may have influenced her decision to stay longer.

She expressed feeling conflicted about her power and fame, wondering how she can be with a man without him feeling inferior due to her status.
