Tiger Woods showed improvement in the second round of the Hero World Challenge on Friday, shooting a two-under-par 70 as he continued his golfing comeback. Making his highly anticipated return to golf after a lengthy layoff, Woods got off to a strong start on day two and appeared to be climbing up the leaderboard.
The 47-year-old started the first nine holes strong, scoring four birdies and moving to four-under-par for the tournament. However, similar to the previous round, Woods struggled in the latter part of the 18 holes, with three bogeys before finishing with a birdie on the last hole.
With his improved performance on day two, 15-time major winner Tiger Woods finished the day at one-over par and in 15th place on the leaderboard. "Better than yesterday for sure," Woods commented on his round, "Overall, the round was improved. The start and middle part of the round were both better."

Tiger Woods says hell walk away from golf when he no longer believes he can win
"I missed a few putts towards the end that I thought would have kept my round going. Unfortunately, it stalled out a bit, but it was still better than yesterday." Woods conceded that his golf game isn't where he wants it to be after being away from the course following ankle surgery in April.
Woods admitted, "I'm a bit rusty after not playing for six months, so I'm not as sharp as usual. There's definitely some good in my game, but I need to work on making it more consistent."
Woods will start his round at 11:43 a.m. ET on day three, paired with the talented Norwegian Viktor Hovland.
Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth currently sit atop the leaderboard on nine-under-par.
