Currently, light novels are just as widely beloved as manga for anime adaptations. Due to the growing popularity of novels and isekai series, an increasing number of anime shows based on light novels are being created, Mushoku Tensei being just one example.
Although the light novel series of Mushoku Tensei has already reached its conclusion, the anime adaptation has not yet covered even half of the entire story. Consequently, readers of the light novel are already well-acquainted with significant details about Rudeus, while anime fans are still unaware and await the revelations.
The following contains spoilers for Mushoku Tensei
7 Rudeus Enters A Magic Academy
Rudeus, a seasoned adventurer skilled in the art of magic, makes the unconventional choice to join the esteemed institution known as Ranoa University of Magic. This unexpected decision comes at the recommendation of Elinalise, who believes it will provide a meaningful way for Rudeus to pass the time as his father and comrades embark on their search for his mother's exact whereabouts.
6 Rudeus Reunites With Old Acquaintances
Although his decision to attend Ranoa was mostly by chance, it ultimately alters his destiny by introducing him to individuals who would later become lifelong companions and supporters. The impact of Rudeus's enrollment is so significant that it is difficult to envision how drastically his life would have been different had he not chosen this educational institution.
Enrolling in the esteemed Ranoa University of Magic not only allows Rudeus to further his studies but also grants him the chance to reconnect with long-lost acquaintances from his past. Among them is Zanoba Shirone, the prince whose passion for figurines was unrivaled. Their common obsession with these miniature treasures strengthens their bond, forging a deep and lasting friendship.
However, Rudeus's most significant reunion is with Sylphiette, his childhood friend who he had lost contact with for many years. Currently disguising herself as Fitz, it takes Rudeus a considerable amount of time to identify his former confidant. However, once he finally recognizes her, their bond reignites effortlessly, as if they had never been apart.
5 Rudeus Meets Someone From His World
Among the peculiar individuals Rudeus encounters during his time at Ranoa University of Magic, none are as mysterious as Silent Sevenstar. Constantly veiled behind a mask, this student rarely attends classes, adding to her enigmatic aura. It takes a considerable amount of time for Rudeus to finally cross paths with Silent Sevenstar, although he does remember seeing her alongside Orsted during their initial meeting.
4 Rudeus Gets Married...Three Times
Rudeus eventually discovers the secret of Silent Sevenstar - her true identity is Shizuka Nanahoshi, a person who had not been reincarnated and longs to return to their original world. Rudeus becomes heavily involved in assisting Nanahoshi's numerous endeavors to find a way back, witnessing a wide range of outcomes in their experiments.
Rudeus's new life is filled with romance, but unfortunately, it's often accompanied by negative experiences. However, everything changes when he is finally reunited with Sylphy. Their reunion sparks a newfound happiness, leading to their decision to tie the knot. Together, they embark on a whirlwind journey of marriage, purchasing a charming house in Ranoa and eagerly welcoming their first child into the world.
3 Rudeus Gets His Family Back
Furthermore, Rudeus goes beyond just having one wife, particularly because it is a common practice in the world of Mushoku Tensei to have multiple wives. Reconnecting with his former mentor Roxy leads to him making her his second wife, and upon Eris' long-awaited return to his life, he decides to marry her as well. Despite the potential challenges that come with having multiple wives, Rudeus, Sylphy, Roxy, and Eris all manage to live harmoniously and happily together.
In early Mushoku Tensei, a significant element of the plot revolves around Rudeus' quest to reunite his family, who were separated due to the Teleportation Incident. Although Rudeus manages to locate his father Paul, Norn, Aisha, and Lilia relatively swiftly, it takes him a considerable amount of time to find his mother Zenith.
2 Rudeus Meets His Future Self
After the Teleportation Incident, several years pass until Paul finally locates Zenith in a treacherous dungeon. Despite the risks involved, Rudeus and his father succeed in rescuing Zenith, albeit at the cost of Paul's own life. Despite the heart-wrenching tragedy, Rudeus is finally able to reunite with his family and experience the joy of living together once again.
After finally reuniting with his family, Rudeus is content and optimistic about his future. He embraces the prospect of a serene and tranquil life, free from perilous escapades. Unfortunately, this newfound tranquility is abruptly shattered by the unexpected arrival of his future self.
1 Rudeus Joins Forces With Orsted
The future Rudeus shares with his past self the disturbing truth of how he was deceived by the Man-God, leading to the heartbreaking loss of Roxy, Sylphy, and numerous others. Entrusting Rudeus with a diary chronicling the unimaginable tragedies he endured, he hopes to guide him away from the same painful path. Shortly after their encounter, he passes away, leaving no doubt that their meeting opened doors to a different destiny.
The initial meeting between Rudeus and Orsted proved to be a catastrophic event, leaving Rudeus on the verge of death. Despite his efforts to steer clear of Orsted, a pact with the omnipotent Man-God compelled him to face off against the formidable Dragon God in an ultimate showdown, ultimately culminating in Rudeus's defeat.
Recognizing that Rudeus was being manipulated and endangered by the Man-God, Orsted extended a helping hand and proposed that Rudeus betray the Man-God in exchange for his assistance. Seizing the opportunity, Rudeus agreed and commenced collaboration with Orsted in their collective struggle against the Man-God. Orsted firmly upheld his part of the agreement, providing valuable support to Rudeus in safeguarding his family from the harms inflicted by the Man-God. This demonstrated Orsted's remarkable nobility and integrity, portraying him as a truly honorable individual.
