The Hokage in the Naruto universe are widely recognized as some of the most formidable fighters in the realm of ninja. The Hokage, in essence, serves as the leader of Konoha, the most powerful village in the ninja world. Naturally, anyone taking on this role must surpass others by leaps and bounds.
Typically, it is wise for a village to select an individual with extensive experience as their Hokage. However, occasionally, there arises an extraordinary talent who assumes this position at a young age, well before reaching their full potential. These shinobi possess a rare quality and, within the world of Naruto, there have been numerous Hokage who were appointed at an exceptionally tender age.
The Oldest Hokage Of Naruto
Most Hokage in Naruto were elected during their prime years, which is a logical choice. Shinobi reach their peak physically and mentally during this time, displaying their utmost skill. Therefore, selecting someone with these attributes is a straightforward decision. Additionally, Hokage who were elected in their primes have typically earned their position through their own merit.
A prime example is Tsunade, the oldest Hokage in Naruto, who was offered the position at the age of 51. Despite being past her prime, Tsunade possessed considerable skill and had established a renowned reputation as a legendary warrior. Due to her exceptional expertise in both combat and medical ninjutsu, she deliberated and ultimately accepted the title of Hokage.
Similarly, both Hashirama and Tobirama were elected as Hokage later in life. Hashirama assumed the position shortly after the village's establishment, during his prime. On the other hand, Tobirama took on the title following his brother's death, when he was already well into his prime and quite elderly.
Similarly, Kakashi Hatake also became Hokage later in his life. After the 4th Great Ninja War, Tsunade chose to retire and Kakashi was selected as the Sixth Hokage. Despite the challenge of succeeding Tsunade, Kakashi's exceptional strength made it relatively easy for him to fill her shoes. He was already a legendary fighter at this point, so taking on this role was not overly difficult for him.
Naruto Uzumaki As The Hokage
: Undoubtedly, the reign of Kakashi brought an era of tranquility to the quaint village of Konoha, solidifying his legacy as one of the most esteemed Hokage in history. Notably, Kakashi was at the pinnacle of his capabilities when assuming this revered role, striking a harmonious balance between the experience of Tsunade and the youthful enthusiasm of others. As the story reached its culmination, Kakashi stood at the ripe age of around 31, signifying that he had taken up this prestigious position at a similar juncture in his life.Naruto Uzumaki eventually succeeded Kakashi and ascended to the illustrious role of the village's seventh Hokage. Throughout his epic journey, dedicated fans witnessed Naruto's growth from a young boy to a formidable leader. Although Naruto had matured significantly during the 4th Great Ninja War, he did not assume the position of Hokage immediately after its conclusion. Recognizing his need for further experience, Kakashi assumed the role as the village's sixth Hokage. As the world's strongest shinobi at that point, Naruto tirelessly served his village, embarking on numerous missions and gaining invaluable expertise along the way.
Naruto Uzumaki eventually became the 7th Hokage of the village. By this time, he was already married, indicating that it didn't happen immediately after the war. In Boruto, Naruto is believed to be 33 years old, but he had been serving as Hokage for a few years during this period. This means that Naruto assumed the role of Hokage between the ages of 28 and 30. It was the ideal age for Naruto to become Hokage, as he was in his prime and capable of protecting the village from powerful villains like Momoshiki.
The Youngest Hokage Of Naruto
When it comes to the youngest Hokage in the world of Naruto, fans often turn to Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage of the village. Minato became the Hokage at a remarkably young age, likely in his late teens during the start of the Third Great Ninja War. The Daimyo of the Land of Fire recognized Minato as an exceptional individual, deserving of the title of Hokage at such a young age. Shortly after aiding in the conclusion of the war, Minato was appointed as the Fourth Hokage of the village.
Tragically, Minato's reign was cut short when he sacrificed his life during Obito's attack on Konoha, while protecting his son. At the time of his death, Minato was only 24 years old, indicating that he became Hokage a few years prior. The exact age at which he assumed this role is unknown, but a reasonable estimate would be between 20 to 22 years old. Despite his brief tenure, Minato proved to be an exceptional Hokage, leaving behind a legendary legacy by saving the village on that fateful night.
The contender for the youngest Hokage in the series is Hiruzen Sarutobi, rather than Minato as commonly believed. Hiruzen joined Konoha shortly after its establishment, along with the Sarutobi and Shimura Clans. He received direct training from both Hashirama and Tobirama, eventually becoming their apprentice. When Hashirama passed away, Tobirama assumed his position and founded the Academy, among other accomplishments.
Although Hiruzen graduated from the Academy at the age of 12, he was immediately thrust into the First Great Ninja War, which was still ongoing at the time. By the time Hiruzen became Hokage, the war was still raging, as Tobirama had sacrificed himself as a decoy to ensure his students' escape. Considering that the war had been ongoing for several years, it can be assumed that Hiruzen became Hokage by the age of 20. At the earliest, he could have assumed the role at 18, and he maintained his authority until Orochimaru ultimately ended his reign in the main storyline.
