In the multiplayer asymmetrical game format of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, players have the opportunity to delve into the frightful realm of the movie franchise. Much like other games in this genre, players have the option to take on the roles of either predators or prey, assuming the persona of either a Victim or a member of the Family.
As Victims, the primary objective is to cautiously navigate the slaughterhouse, making use of stealth techniques and leveraging environmental objects in their quest for escape. It is crucial for Victims to remain concealed and evade detection from the Family as they navigate through the treacherous maps, a task which proves to be quite challenging. Fortunately, there are a few key pointers that Victims must keep in mind in order to increase their chances of survival and their ultimate escape in the Texas Chain Saw Massacre game.
6 Free Yourself As Quickly As Possible
Victims will begin both solo and multiplayer matches restrained and suspended from the ceiling. It is imperative for them to promptly liberate themselves at the outset, while Family members observe an introductory animation. However, it is crucial to note that Family members possess highly sensitive hearing, enabling them to discern the location of Victims during the game. Consequently, the act of breaking free will register loudly on the noise meter.
However, this should not dissuade Victims, as Family members remain immobile during the animation. Therefore, if players move expediently, they can generate as much noise as necessary while extricating themselves from their restraints. Once on the ground, their objective should be to locate a Toolbox and the exit doors leading to the Basement.
5 Learn The Maps
Avoiding detection is a crucial task for Victims, as their Family members will be actively searching for them. To increase your chances of remaining undetected, it is recommended to stay low and seek hiding spots behind objects and tall grass. Familiarizing yourself with the layout of each map is also advisable, as they can initially feel quite vast.
Players have four potential exit methods at their disposal: Generator, Car Battery, Fuse, and Valve. In case a Family member initiates an attack while you are searching for an exit, take advantage of crawl spaces, gaps, hallways, and other available areas to quickly escape from them. However, keep in mind that hiding in crates is not a foolproof option, as certain Family members like Leatherface can effortlessly destroy them.
4 Don't Forget About Grandpa

The Family

A victim manages to flee from the basement.
Inevitably, encountering Grandpa's rage is bound to happen during the game. As soon as Grandpa awakens, he releases a piercing scream, alerting both himself and other family members to the presence of any victims in motion. Therefore, victims must be vigilant and halt abruptly upon hearing his cry in order to avoid revealing their whereabouts.
Grandpa is low on blood, but if given enough by the Family, he can use his scream to see player positions regardless if they're moving or still.
3 Avoid Chickens
The maps contain numerous noise traps and alarms that are activated when Victims approach or step on them. Even the most skilled Texas Chain Saw Massacre players can be detected if they are not mindful of their environment. Some evident triggers include dangling bones and forcefully opening or closing doors. Surprisingly, another source of noise is groups of Chickens.
Chickens are frequently confined in cages throughout the entire map, and if players approach them closely, the chickens will commence emitting loud clucking noises, thus alerting other Family members. Victims need to exercise caution when spotting caged chickens near crucial items, shortcuts, and exit doors. If they happen upon any, they must swiftly distance themselves and seek shelter to avoid potential pursuit.
2 Pay Attention To Character Attributes & Perks
Prior to commencing a match, gamers are given the opportunity to select their preferred Victim. While opting for a random selection is viable, the most effective approach to secure a victory is to employ strategic thinking by thoroughly assessing the various attributes and perks associated with each character.
Each Victims' attributes include a brief description and a menu providing an overview of their strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. The selected character determines the perks available to players, such as revealing escape routes, stunning Family members, and unlocking doors. The measure of a Victim's attributes is based on the following criteria:
- Toughness: Victims with a higher Toughness level can endure more damage and recover faster.
Endurance is crucial for victims as it enables them to sustain their stamina and replenish it more rapidly.
Strength plays a vital role in stunning, grappling with, and launching surprise attacks on family members. It also dictates victims' ability to break free from restraints, unlock shortcut doors, and disable the generator.
Proficiency – Proficiency affects how difficult it will be for a Victim to complete skilled tasks and interactions.
Stealth – Stealth indicates how quietly a Victim can carry out a task.
1 Keep Two Unlock Tools
During a match, players are allotted two inventory slots to hold helpful items that serve specific purposes, such as healing, unlock tools, and stunning items. While maintaining health is crucial, Victims are advised to prioritize being well-prepared to open doors and exits.
Unlock tools can be found inside the blue Toolboxes scattered throughout the maps. Each Toolbox yields two unlock tools as long as there is enough space in the inventory. To obtain an unlock tool from a Toolbox, players must interact with it and engage in a small skill check game. Successful completion of the skill check rewards Victims with an unlock tool. It's important to be cautious and ready to hide or flee, as this action will create a loud noise that alerts Leatherface.
Texas Chain Saw Massacre is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
