Fans of both the show and the original book series were delighted by the clever introduction of Belly's affection for Conrad through the use of Swift's popular track "Lover."

Jenny Han, the creator of the show, spoke about how the fanbase influenced the soundtrack. She expressed that being able to give the book fans that special moment is meaningful to her as a fan herself. However, when they were able to secure five of Taylor Swift's songs for the soundtrack, Jenny couldn't believe it.
