The focus of the One Piece manga has now shifted to Marijoa, where the events that occurred during the terse Reverie arc are being covered. Although the arc did not reveal much about what happened in the Holy Land, Oda has now expanded on the details and disclosed the events that took place. It was the Revolutionary Army responsible for creating chaos in the home of the Celestial Dragons as they aimed to rescue Kuma from their clutches. Along with this, they also had other objectives, including the destruction of the symbol of the Celestial Dragons and their food supplies in Marijoa.
Freeing The Slaves
The Revolutionaries had a mission to liberate all the slaves in Marijoa, not just Kuma. When the Revolutionary Army revealed themselves, the soldiers stationed in Marijoa immediately launched an attack, but Dragon's commanders were able to swiftly defeat them. In response, the Marines dispatched Admirals to stop the commanders. Despite the odds stacked against them, the commanders managed to hold their ground and distract the Admirals just long enough for Sabo to retrieve the keys and free Kuma and the other slaves. Karasu used one of his crows to retrieve the keys from Sabo and complete the mission. The Celestial Dragons were outraged, but their anger was impotent in the face of the Revolutionaries' success.
The Disagreement
The Revolutionary Army faced a daunting task of leaving Marijoa unscathed after freeing the slaves. However, they had a valuable ally in Admiral Fujitora, who was known for his unwavering principles and willingness to disobey orders from superiors. Despite going against Akainu's commands, Fujitora personally apologized to the people of Dressrosa for the Navy's actions. This bold move did not sit well with the Fleet Admiral, who reprimanded Fujitora and forbade him from ever setting foot on another naval base.
Fujitora's actions in Marijoa suggest that he may not have learned his lesson, but he acted according to his own beliefs. He is aware that the Celestial Dragons are ruthless and indifferent towards the well-being of their slaves. Hence, he assisted the Revolutionary Army in their mission and potentially aided their escape. However, Jabra has claimed that Ryokugyu was displeased with Fujitora's decision, resulting in an attack on him.
Who Would Have Won?
The inevitable clash between the two Admirals has left fans speculating about who would emerge victorious. To answer that, we must first take a closer look at their respective abilities. Fujitora, for instance, wields the Zushi Zushi no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that grants him control over gravitational forces. With this power, he can manipulate gravity to immobilize his opponents or increase the gravitational pull over a specific area. Not to mention, he also has the ability to summon meteors from the sky, unleashing devastating damage upon his foes.
Ryokugyu possesses the Mori Mori no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that grants him the power to create and control plant life. He demonstrated his ability in the Wano Country arc when he drained moisture from the Beasts Pirates' bodies. Despite being intercepted by Momonosuke's group, Ryokugyu nearly defeated them all before Shanks unleashed a burst of Conqueror's Haki to stop him. With his training, Ryokugyu's plants are impervious to ordinary fire attacks.
In terms of feats, Fujitora has the upper hand. While Ryokugyu can attempt to attack the blind Admiral with vines and other means, Fujitora can easily demolish them with a meteor shower from above. Additionally, Fujitora's exceptional Kenbunshoku Haki enables him to evade all attacks with ease. Although the battle would be intense, Fujitora would ultimately emerge victorious.
Fujitora's Fate
Fujitora may have achieved his desired outcome, but the repercussions of his actions will be felt. His previous decisions have already put him in hot water, and Akainu will face backlash if he allows Fujitora to go unpunished. While Akainu attempted to exile him before, he will likely need to impose a harsher penalty this time around. Firing Fujitora would create a vacancy among the Admirals, which Akainu cannot risk at the moment. Instead, he will probably have to reprimand Fujitora once again and restrict his actions.
As Fleet Admiral, Akainu has been dealing with a series of chaotic events, including the alliance between Big Mom and Kaido, the Revolutionary Army's attack on Marijoa, and the rise of the Cross Guild. Although Akainu would prefer to travel to Wano and other locations to combat these threats personally, his position requires him to remain at headquarters and manage the situation from afar. With so much going on worldwide, Akainu needs all the support he can get, making it imperative that he retains Fujitora as a valuable member of his team.
