In Assassin's Creed Mirage, each contract presents players with a bonus objective to accomplish in order to earn additional favor tokens and valuable resources. While many of these objectives are straightforward, such as avoiding detection or eliminating the target using fire, "The Kidnapped Scholar" contract offers a unique challenge: refrain from killing anyone. This presents a remarkable test for assassins, as completing this contract without even being noticed by the bandits who abducted the scholar is within reach, despite the availability of nonlethal tools like sleeping darts.

How to Get Started

"The Kidnapped Scholar" is part of the second set of six contracts that players can obtain from the Hidden Ones Bureaus. This particular contract holds significant value as it offers two skill points, scholar's tokens, and components. Upon successfully completing the bonus objective, players are rewarded with additional scholar's tokens and bonus money.

The scholar is currently held captive in the midst of the Badaraya Sands Camp, which is located northwest of the Oasis viewpoint and southwest of the Observatory viewpoint. The most effective approach to the camp is to ascend the southern rocks, as this angle ensures that none of the bandits can spot Basim.

Upon reaching the Badaraya Sands Camp, it is advisable for players to employ Enkidu to mark all the bandits. The majority of them can be easily spotted as they are situated in unobstructed areas, allowing players to eliminate them efficiently from just one or two locations.

Alternatively, if players approach the camp from the south, they can discreetly descend behind the bandit stationed at the watchtower and utilize the tall grass to evade detection. The primary concern should be the pair of bandits who patrol the camp in a clockwise fashion. Players should patiently wait for them to pass before quickly making their way to the tall grass adjacent to the central storage area. It is important to note that the scholar is present here but is incapacitated and incapable of independent movement.

Players need to press the grab button (Y on an Xbox controller) in order to pick up the scholar. Despite the scholar taking up a significant amount of space and being talkative, these factors won't pose any additional challenges when it comes to sneaking out of the camp. However, it's worth noting that Basim cannot climb while carrying the scholar, so the only option is to exit at ground level.

This is where the tall grass becomes advantageous once again. By retracing their steps, players can navigate from one patch of tall grass to another, bypassing the watchtower and ultimately leaving the restricted area. Although the bandit on the watchtower will notice Basim's departure, he is sufficiently distant that players should be able to reach the grass outside the camp before the bandit's indicator turns yellow.

Players have the freedom to move around without any hindrances, however, the contract will only be considered concluded when Basim successfully escorts the scholar a short distance away from the camp. When the game indicates it is safe, players are instructed to release their hold on the scholar by pressing the grab button once again. Upon doing so, the scholar will stand up, initiating a conversation prompt. Once the scholar has finished speaking, the contract will reach its conclusion, and players will be rewarded accordingly.
