The Hunter class makes a return in Remnant 2 as one of the new playable Archetypes, taking its iteration in the previous game and pushing it to new limits. With a specialized set of skills and perks, players can now truly embody the deadly marksman fantasy unlike ever before in the sequel.
As expected, the Hunter in Remnant 2 excels in ranged combat. Sacrificing defense for high damage and offensive versatility, Hunters can hold their own individually, but truly shine when playing alongside teammates who can draw attention away from them. The following build guide is tailored for solo players who seek to maximize their damage output.
Remnant 2 Hunter Build
Hunters specialize in firearms and long-range shooting. Although they may lack defensive skills, they make up for it with buffs and passive effects that significantly enhance their proficiency with all types of guns. By combining their abilities with the Gunslinger Archetype, they become Sharpshooters, unmatched in their firearm expertise. This guide centers around the Hunter as the primary Archetype, maximizing the advantages offered by the Gunslinger.

Sharpshooters receive a passive bonus, increasing Ranged Damage by 65% and Weakspot Damage by 15%, when both the Hunter and Gunslinger abilities are at Level 10. This combination of Archetypes excels at gun usage. The skills Hunter's Mark and Bulletstorm are particularly effective against bosses, especially when paired with the Dead-to-Rights Prime Perk, which allows Hunter's Mark to remain active for the entire duration of the battle.
While there are numerous impressive weapons available for this build, players do not need to deviate from the starting Huntmaster M1 rifle if they desire a high-DPS option. By utilizing the Battery Mutator, Ring of Flawed Beauty, and Zania's Malice, the rifle can achieve incredibly high numbers for Weakspot Damage. However, it may not perform as well against enemies lacking Weakspots. In such cases, the Enigma weapon is more than capable of handling these targets.
The Point Focus Ring is essential for its ability to reduce recoil by 35%. It proves to be extremely beneficial when players utilize the Huntmaster's Bulletstorm, as its recoil becomes challenging to control when firing at an accelerated rate.
For builds that focus on Weakspots, the Time Lapse mod serves as the ideal addition. It immobilizes enemies, greatly facilitating the accuracy of Weakspot hits. It is worth noting that this mod may not be as effective against bosses, in which case players may consider switching to Hot Shot or Corrosive Rounds as alternatives.
The Hunter's additional abilities shine in team settings where teammates can draw the attention of enemies. While it is feasible to utilize these skills during solo play, it is commonly preferred for a hybrid Hunter/Summoner or Hunter/Invader build.
Remnant 2 is currently accessible on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
