Highlights
The first DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, The Teal Mask, reveals the true story of Ogerpon and the Loyal Three, debunking the previous legend.
The game itself, Pokedex entries, and in-game items all suggest the presence of a speculated "peach" Pokemon, potentially serving as the leader of the Loyal Three.
Hinted to have a substantial role in the upcoming Indigo Disk DLC, this enigmatic peach Pokemon could possibly take on the role of an antagonist within the captivating narrative of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's BB League storyline.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's first DLC was released just over a week ago. The DLC, titled The Teal Mask, transports players to the region of Kitakami, where they can immerse themselves in the local culture and interact with the inhabitants. Throughout the gameplay, players gradually uncover the truth about a legendary ogre that once attacked Mossui Town. Contrary to popular belief, the village was not defended by three brave Pokemon called Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti. Instead, an ogre named Ogerpon sought vengeance for the death of its human companion and enlisted the help of a mysterious "peach" Pokemon, as indicated by the Kitakami Pokedex.
These revelations are primarily discovered through data mining and a specific in-game cutscene that unveils Ogerpon's true story. However, keen players can also piece together the clues using certain story elements, the Pokedex entries for the Loyal Three, and various in-game items. In fact, Game Freak, the game's developer, seems to have intentionally provided obvious hints. For instance, players may stumble upon a plush toy resembling the rumored "peach" Pokemon at the local Kitakami shop called Peachy's.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Indigo Disk Will Likely Include the Leaked Master Peach Pokemon
The rumor about a "peach Momotaro" Pokemon originated before the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's The Teal Mask. The rumored Pokemon is said to be inspired by the protagonist of a folk tale about a child defeating an ogre with the help of a dog, a monkey, and a pheasant. The peach is used to describe the Pokemon's appearance and was partially shown in the game's Ogerpon backstory cutscene.
This new Pokemon is expected to appear in the Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It may play a significant role in Kieran's story and is believed to be the master of the Loyal Three due to its resemblance to their chains. This connection may explain the Toxic Chain Ability that the Loyal Three possess. The Pokedex entries of Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti hint at their growth and transformation, with each longing for strength, wisdom, and beauty, respectively.
It appears that the master peach Pokemon can grant wishes, but it is unclear if this applies to both Pokemon and humans. Considering the similarities between the plushie sold by Peachy in The Teal Mask DLC and the appearance of the master peach Pokemon in the datamined files, it is likely that they are one and the same.
Since the master peach Pokemon granted the Loyal Three their powers and Toxic Chain Ability in The Teal Mask DLC, it is probable that it is also a Poison-type creature. It remains to be seen if it has unique synergies with the Loyal Three similar to Dondozo and Tatsugiri. However, players will likely discover that this Pokemon is one of the main antagonists in The Indigo Disk, potentially affecting the BB League storyline in the DLC and in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for the Nintendo Switch.
