Jagged Alliance 3 is a complex strategy game where players control a group of mercenaries on a mission to rescue the captured president of Grand Chien. In addition to battlefield tactics, players must meticulously manage their finances and inventory. It is crucial to sell excess items to make room for better gear and to support the recruitment of higher-skilled mercenaries.

To sell items, players have to first liberate a zone containing a major settlement. The Fleatown Market is the first and easiest to reach. Once all enemies are eliminated, this zone becomes a friendly area where players can freely explore, trade, and interact with the locals. Numerous market stalls offer weapons and ammunition for sale. Players need to be cautious not to accidentally purchase items by clicking on these stalls. Instead, there is one specific stall that buys Scrap from the player, providing the only way to sell regular items.

Scrap

Regular items such as Weapons or Gear must be converted into Scrap before they can be sold. This can be done in the player Inventory by selecting the item and choosing 'Scrap' from the dropdown menu. This process frees up Inventory space and allows the Scrap to be sold at a Market. While not the most convenient or obvious method for trading spare equipment, it simplifies the process by focusing solely on dealing with Scrap currency.

Scrap can be sold to a vendor at a rate of 30 for $500. It can also be used to repair certain equipment if the player has a mercenary with a high enough Mechanic skill. If not, they can hire another Mercenary when the current squad's contracts expire or boost the character's skill level by reading/buying in-game magazines.

Diamonds

Diamonds are the primary trade commodity in Grand Chien, particularly among certain aristocrats. In Jagged Alliance 3, players will encounter a plentiful supply of diamonds along their journey. Besides mining them, players can also engage in buying and selling diamonds with various traders throughout the game. These traders often have additional side-missions for players to complete and will offer different prices for buying and selling diamonds. Making smart decisions in this trade can lead to significant profits. It is advisable for players to sell any diamonds they obtain from their mines to these characters. Additionally, players may occasionally come across briefcases filled with diamonds, which can be sold through the inventory screen in a similar manner as converting items to Scrap.
