What Are Combo Breakers In MK1?How To Perform A Combo Breaker In MK1
The fighting mechanics and battle flow in Mortal Kombat 1 have been enhanced to be faster and more focused on combos than ever before. These improvements are due to the introduction of two new systems: the Kameo system and the enhanced Air combos in MK1.
At times, blocking or evading may not be enough to halt an opponent's combo string. To effectively disrupt the sequence, players can utilize the Combo Breaker, which is a crucial mechanic in MK1. However, executing a successful Combo Breaker is not merely a matter of pressing a single button to instantly counter the opponent's onslaught.
What Are Combo Breakers In MK1?
Combo Breakers in MK1 serve the purpose of disrupting an opponent's continuous string of inputs. They can be executed only after the initial hit or two of a combo has connected, and once the opponent has inputted the following actions for the remainder of the combo. These Breakers serve as a means of minimizing damage and allow players to defend themselves during an otherwise unblockable combo. However, it should be noted that the functionality of Combo Breakers in MK1 is somewhat constrained.
How To Perform A Combo Breaker In MK1
: Combo Breakers in Kameo are performed by the partners of the players, not their main character. This means that players need to pay close attention to the bottom-left Meter in order to execute a Combo Breaker. While most Kameo abilities consume only one bar of the Meter, all three bars must be filled in order to activate a Combo Breaker. Once a Combo Breaker is used, the Meter will be completely depleted.Once the Meter is completely filled with all three bars, players can execute a Combo Breaker in MK1. This can be done when the opponent's first hit of a combo is registered. To perform a Combo Breaker, simultaneously press forward and the Block/Amplify button. It's important to note that the input sequence for the Combo Breaker may vary depending on the console used.
On Xbox controllers, press forward on the D-pad and RT
On PlayStation controllers, press forward on the D-pad and R2
Press forward on the D-pad R on the Switch.
After executing the inputs, the enemy's Combo will be interrupted, causing both players to separate and return to a balanced position. Keep in mind that there is no available Meter, so be ready to Block and prevent the enemy from initiating another Combo uninterrupted.
Mortal Kombat 1 is available for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
