Lae'Zel has an array of impressive endings, primarily focused on her loyalty and protection of her people from the Netherbrain. Her commitment remains unwavering, even after its defeat, as she sets out to confront the formidable threat of Vlaakith, proving her strength and resolve.
Her motivations run deep, surpassing the influence of even the protagonist, making her decisions independent and steadfast. With Baldur's Gate 3 offering a diverse range of endings, particularly for Lae'Zel, players will be intrigued to discover if a superior outcome awaits them.
Alliance with the Emperor and Kill Orpheus
Free Orpheus And Become Mind Flayer
After failing to defeat the Elder Brain, the party will discover themselves in a location where Orpheus is being held captive. Should the players from Baldur's Gate decide against betraying the Emperor, he will execute Orpheus. While this outcome ensures their victory against the Illithid Empire in the future, it will result in a tragic ending for Lae'Zel. She will accuse the protagonist of forsaking the prince's life, thus endangering the fate of the Githyanki. Regardless of whether Lae'Zel agrees to complete the mission, she will ultimately part ways with the party as an outcast of her own people due to the protagonist's actions.Refusing to kill Orpheus will result in the Emperor withholding assistance and instead aligning with Netherbrain. Subsequently, a conversation with the prince will reveal the necessity for someone to take on the role of the Mind Flayer. If the protagonist chooses to assume this position, Orpheus will express surprise and immense gratitude. Following the vanquishing of the Elder Brain, Orpheus will summon Lae'Zel to embark on a joint aerial assault against Vlaakith, riding upon dragons. Accepting this proposal eagerly, Lae'Zel will decline the opportunity to remain, as being with the Mind Flayer is incompatible with her desires.
Orpheus or Karlach Becomes a Mind Flayer
If the player opts out of becoming a Mind Flayer after saving Orpheus, either Orpheus or Karlach will undergo the transformation. Subsequent events will unfold similarly to the aforementioned ending, but there will be additional storyline options following the final battle. The protagonist can request Lae'Zel to remain by their side, while Orpheus will depart on his own, unless he has embraced the Mind Flayer fate.
Many players believe that it is morally incorrect to ask Lae'Zel to stay, as she must fight for her people. However, there is an ending where players can join her in riding dragons. This ending is only accessible to Githyanki characters, making it a rarity among players.
Baldur's Gate 3 is available now on PC and PS5, with an Xbox Series X version also in development.
