Dead by Daylight stands as a prime example of the live-service model, surpassing even the popular Fortnite in longevity. This captivating multiplayer horror game offers a diverse and thrilling core gameplay loop right from the start. With the addition of Dead by Daylight's DLC, the gameplay becomes even more immersive. Thanks to the continuous updates and patches from Behaviour Interactive, the game strives for balance.
Over the past seven years, Dead by Daylight has maintained its position as one of the most beloved multiplayer games, largely due to its consistently outstanding DLC expansions. These expansions bring together a range of crossover IPs and original content, usually introducing a new Killer, Survivor, and map. While the game already includes several iconic horror game characters, there is always room for more in Dead by Daylight.
Dead Space's Necromorph and Isaac Clarke Would Work Very Well in Dead by Daylight
Dead by Daylight Could Triple Down on Resident Evil
Dead Space, originally released in 2008, experienced a revival this year with its highly anticipated remake. This makes it the perfect candidate for a crossover with Dead by Daylight. Naturally, the iconic protagonist of Dead Space, Isaac Clarke, would be an excellent fit as a Survivor in Dead by Daylight. On the other hand, the terrifying Necromorph would be a formidable choice for a Killer. In terms of abilities, Isaac Clarke could possess Perks that enhance his and other Survivors' items, while the Necromorph could unleash a frenzy of fast-paced attacks with a unique frenzy ability.Resident Evil sets itself apart from other franchises in Dead by Daylight by having two crossovers instead of just one. And there's no reason why this trend shouldn't continue. With the inclusion of Wesker, Nemesis, Ada Wong, Leon Kennedy, Jill Valentine, and Rebecca Chambers, there's already a strong representation from the Resident Evil universe in the game. However, there's still plenty of room for more iconic characters to join the roster. It would be exciting to see the newer Resident Evil games, like Ethan Winters from Resident Evil 7, as a new Survivor. And of course, it's hard to ignore the mesmerizing presence of Lady Dimitrescu, who would make an obvious choice for a terrifying Killer.
BioShock's Big Daddies Could Drill Their Way Onto Dead by Daylight's Roster
One of the most renowned adversaries in the gaming world is the Big Daddies from BioShock, making them ideal candidates for Dead by Daylight Killers. Instead of a straightforward dashing ability à la The Blight or Leatherface, a Dead by Daylight Big Daddy Killer could possess a more distinctive power inspired by its depiction in the original material. For example, Dead by Daylight's Big Daddy could have an ability akin to The Twins, where a Little Sister accompanies him throughout the match, accumulating ADAM from hooked Survivors to fuel a meter for a special bonus ability.
A Dead by Daylight x Alan Wake Crossover Would be Perfectly Timed
With the upcoming sequel on the horizon, it's the ideal moment for Alan Wake's iconic writer to make his way into Dead by Daylight. Considering Alan Wake's gameplay revolves around the clever use of a flashlight, it only seems fitting that his Dead by Daylight Perks would offer him substantial advantages when utilizing this tool. While incorporating this into Dead by Daylight's gameplay might present a challenge, it would be truly fascinating to witness Alan Wake's writing being utilized in some manner. This could take the form of a simple voice-over that plays after completing each generator, as if Alan himself were narrating and penning the Trial. Alternatively, it could manifest as an intriguing gameplay mechanic that adds another layer of depth to the experience.
Dead by Daylight is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
