Regrettably, the extraterrestrial design was discontinued by Blizzard following allegations of sexual assault against its intended recipient, Jay "Sinatraa" Won, a former player in the Overwatch League.

Originally created to celebrate the victorious San Francisco Shock team's second championship win in 2020, this commemorative item faced an immediate removal following serious allegations. To rectify the situation, players were given the option to receive credits as a refund, yet a few chose to retain the item. Given these circumstances, the likelihood of the skin resurfacing is exceedingly slim, and Blizzard has explicitly stated that no additional skins dedicated to Overwatch League MVPs will be produced.

BlizzCon, one of the largest gaming conventions in North America, has been held annually since 2005. Exclusive Overwatch skins have been made available for those who attended the event in person or had a BlizzCon Virtual Ticket starting from 2016. The initial offering featured Bastion, followed by Winston, Demon Hunter Sombra, Illidan Genji, Tryanade Symmetra, and Raynhardt Reinhardt. While BlizzCon-themed skins remain limited to event attendees, others have been reused, as demonstrated by the appearance of Demon Hunter Sombra during the 2019 Halloween Terror event.

While it did reappear in 2019 for players who pre-ordered the game for the Nintendo Switch, it has not been seen since then. Resellers have capitalized on its scarcity, with online listings ranging from $175 to $450 for those still eager to obtain it.

The community initially had mixed reactions towards the 2022 Brigitte Medic skin when it was first introduced. However, this skin became a rarity as it could only be obtained through various platforms. As a reward for participating in the Overwatch League Midseason Madness event, players were granted the unique white Support skin. To acquire it, players had to meet specific criteria. Firstly, they were required to visit the channels of a specific group of Twitch streamers who played Overwatch 2. Additionally, players needed to gift three Twitch subscriptions to the chat, amounting to approximately $15 in total. The availability window for the Brigitte's Medic Skin was limited, lasting from June 29 to July 20, 2022, and to this date, it has not made a reappearance.

Widowmaker Kerrigan Skin

Even though Kerrigan Widowmaker was initially a recolor of Nova's DPS hero skin, this particular version holds a higher level of rarity. To commemorate Blizzard's 20th Anniversary of StarCraft, a Sarah Kerrigan Ghost skin was gifted to players who simply logged in between March 6 and April 3, 2018. Consequently, certain individuals who did not partake during this limited-time period or missed the opportunity have expressed their frustration in being unable to obtain Kerrigan Widowmaker.

Overwatch League and Contenders Skins
