In the previous chapter, Heisuke began to question his ability to overcome Kamihate, an exceptionally skilled sniper. Meanwhile, Amane and Shin were puzzled as to why Kamihate was targeting Sakamoto, who had asserted that he had never harmed him in the past. Shin decided to investigate and found the hideout where Kamihate was staying, giving him an opportunity to gain insight into his intentions.
Around nine years ago, Kamihate attempted to assassinate John Paichy, a renowned assassin, from a distance of approximately eight kilometers. This successful feat brought him recognition in the Guinness Book of World Records for long-distance sniping and earned him a place on Time Magazine's list of influential assassins. However, Kamihate only recently learned that Paichy did not perish from his gunshot but instead, it was Sakamoto who ended his life.
Upon viewing Paichy's final painting, slated for display at a museum, Kamihate stumbled upon the startling truth. Bloodstains, positioned at an angle, provided irrefutable evidence that absolved Kamihate of Paichy's murder. This revelation instilled a deep sense of insecurity in him, prompting a resolute resolve to prevent Sakamoto from ever setting foot in the museum and unearthing the truth.
Sakamoto noted that Kamihate believed his strength stemmed from solitude, leading him to isolate himself so completely that no one within their order had ever seen his face. Losing the title of world's best sniper would therefore be a crushing blow to someone like him.
The chapter then returned to the confrontation between Kamihate and Heisuke, who started to understand Kamihate's mindset. As Heisuke grappled with finding a safe angle to shoot without harming civilians, he made the decision to utilize Kamihate's trajectory against him instead of deflecting his own bullets.
