"I am always ready to slay and celebrate in style during Pride Month," shares Gigi Gorgeous, author of the T Guide. "I jet off to the hottest spots and have been honored to serve as Grand Marshal in some years and host Pride activations in others."
The YouTube sensation from Canada has been a vocal supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community since publicly coming out as transgender in December 2013. In a YouTube video from April 2021, she reflected on her journey, explaining that she first came out as gay before transitioning, and then came out as gay again. These moments of self-discovery and labeling hold a special place in her heart and are some of her most cherished memories. She has since married Nats Getty, who has also undergone a transition.
Gigi has found a newfound appreciation for Pride celebrations after coming out. She fondly remembers her first Pride event in Toronto as her favorite memory, where she experienced a sense of acceptance and community that she will never forget. Her journey has also led her to write a guidebook, titled The T Guide, which is now available in bookstores.
She co-wrote the book with Gottmik, a former contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race, and describes it as a conversation that highlights their personal transitions and journeys.
