Pigs in Horror Movies
Putting two and two together, it becomes evident which direction Squealer is leading us. The fact that this unsettling scenario actually occurred in real life amplifies the fear factor, and the addition of the exclusive clip only heightens the creepiness. The scene depicts a woman feeding pigs who exhibit unusually aggressive behavior while eating. This serves as a stark reminder that interfering with pigs during their mealtime can result in unexpected violence.

Interestingly, horror and thriller movies have frequently incorporated pigs. Throughout the entire Saw franchise, for instance, the Jigsaw killers don repulsive pig masks as they approach their victims. The controversial 2018 film The Farm utilized pigs as significant narrative elements, while even Nicolas Cage (playing Renfield) forms a friendship with one in the critically acclaimed Pig.
Squealer, a feature film directed by Andy Armstrong, known for his work on TV movie Moonshine Highway in 1996, is set to premiere in theaters. Armstrong co-writes the screenplay with Danielle Burgio, both of whom have transitioned from their roles as stunt performers to filmmaking. They have previously worked on notable films such as The Matrix Revolutions, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and The Firm as part of the stunt teams. In addition to their behind-the-scenes roles, Armstrong and Burgio also star in the horror-thriller alongside Wes Chatham, Kate Moennig, and Ronnie Gene Blevins.
Squealer will premiere simultaneously in theaters, on digital platforms, and on demand on November 3. Don't miss the exclusive clip and check out the poster below.
