Nectar Making, a beloved feature from previous installments of The Sims franchise, is finally returning to The Sims 4 with the Horse Ranch Expansion Pack. This activity allows players to engage in the delightful process of crafting and enjoying unique recipes that closely resemble wine, complete with aging and mood-altering effects.
As a result, the latest expansion also introduces a new Aspiration called Expert Nectar Maker. This Aspiration, found in the Food section of the Aspirations menu, is specifically designed for Teen and older Sims who are eager to showcase their skills in nectar making.
Expert Nectar Maker Aspiration Steps
Tips for Completing the Expert Nectar Maker Aspiration Faster and Easier:
Achieve Level 5 Nectar Making Skill
Leveling up the Nectar Making Skill is similar to other skills, but it takes longer due to its maximum level of five. However, players can reach this level relatively quickly by continuously making nectar. To start leveling up, players need to purchase a Nectar Maker from the Buy Menu, which can be found in various categories. Currently, there are no books available for leveling this skill, so crafting around 50 nectars is necessary to maximize it. Fortunately, the second goal requires players to do this anyway, so it won't be a major issue. Players can work on achieving both goals simultaneously. Additionally, crafting as many bottles as possible will also help with the third goal, so players should consistently craft nectar in large quantities instead of waiting long periods between each batch to finish this aspiration as quickly as possible.
Specifically for this step alone, having certain traits such as Savant, as well as being in an Energized mood can help with leveling the nectar making skill quicker.
Make 50 Bottles of Nectar
Crafting high-quality nectar is the ultimate challenge in this endeavor. It involves a significant number of bottles to be created and various factors that come into play. The three main factors influencing the quality of nectar are the quality of ingredients, the level of skill, and the current mood of the Sim. Surprisingly, even with subpar ingredients, players with exceptional skills can still produce excellent nectar. On the contrary, using top-notch ingredients and possessing advanced skills won't guarantee a favorable outcome if the Sim is in a negative mood, like feeling sad.
Players should prioritize leveling up their Sims' nectar making skill quickly. In order to improve the ingredient quality, it is helpful to have a garden with evolved plants, as the basic ingredients purchased from the Nectar Maker are always of normal quality. Maintaining positive moodlets in their Sims is also important, achieved by taking care of their needs and keeping them energized. Sims who have a fondness for nectar making will have a higher chance of consistently crafting excellent bottles. It is worth noting that Sims with the Perfectionist trait will find this step easier to complete. Once this step is finished, players can simply wait for the nectar to age and can focus on other Aspirations in the meantime.
Make 100,000 Simoleons Selling Nectar
Making a large amount of Simoleons may seem daunting at first, but with patience, players will find that it is not as difficult as it seems, especially after crafting 50 bottles of nectar. It typically takes over a week for the nectar to reach the finely aged state. Once it reaches this stage, it is best to sell the nectar instead of keeping it on the rack, as its value will not increase over time. Opening the bottle will also greatly diminish its value.
To speed up the process, players can purchase a Nectar Rack and store it in the basement if available. This will not only quicken the aging process but also help organize different types and ages of nectars. Sims can easily collect all the finely aged nectars directly from the rack's interaction menu, saving time from searching through each bottle. Furthermore, reaching level 5 of nectar making allows players to craft nectar that is already lightly aged, further reducing the waiting time.
Additionally, players may also expedite the process by enhancing the individual value of each nectar produced, rather than waiting for nearly all of their outstanding nectar to mature. To achieve this, players should prioritize crafting nectar that was previously locked behind higher levels in nectar production, such as the Fruit Nectar and Berry Nectar. Furthermore, acquiring the Marketable reward skill will also aid in boosting the value of the nectars. Lastly, players might want to consider selling the nectar to a recently introduced pre-made Sim, Roberto Crinkletop, who offers a higher purchasing price. This Sim can be located in Chestnut Ridge. By combining all of these factors, a single outstanding, well-aged nectar can be sold for over 10 thousand Simoleons, generating a significant passive income for Sims. It is worth mentioning that while the Rancher trait does not contribute to the count of Excellent bottles, it can assist in producing more nectar in a shorter amount of time, thereby increasing the potential amount of Simoleons that can be earned.
Expert Nectar Maker Aspiration Reward Trait
Upon completion of the aspiration, Sims will be rewarded with the Nectar Know-It-All trait. Regardless of whether they primarily drink or sell nectar, or neither, this trait proves beneficial for any Sim. It provides an added boost to the aging process of nectar, enabling its sell value to increase more rapidly, while also enhancing the enjoyment of nectar for those who consume it. It is worth noting that Sim's bladder needs are less affected by nectar when possessing this trait, which may be of less significance for Sims who already possess the Steel Bladder reward trait.
Sims with this reward trait will find it easier to manage their mood, as negative moodlets will have less of an impact on their overall mood. This is particularly useful in all aspects of Sims gameplay, especially when players are trying to maintain a specific moodlet such as Focused, even when their needs are low.
The Sims 4 is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
