Scheana Shay's recent photo with Tom Sandoval has caused some confusion regarding her loyalties on Vanderpump Rules. However, her co-star Ariana Madix has come forward to clarify the situation.

In a message shared on her Instagram Stories on Friday, July 21, Ariana, 38, defended Scheana, stating that she is an amazing friend who was simply taking a photo with a fan for their birthday. She also addressed the negative comments Scheana has received, emphasizing that Scheana was just trying to do something nice.

Ariana further explained that it is common for the entire cast to be present in photos, regardless of any ongoing dynamics between them.

Earlier this month, a photo of Scheana, 38, and Tom, 41, emerged. The picture was taken during the Vanderpump Rules cast trip to Lake Tahoe and featured several cast members including Tom Schwartz, James Kennedy, and Scheana's husband, Brock Davies, posing with a Bravo fan. However, Scheana faced criticism for spending time with Sandoval after his affair with Raquel Leviss. In response, Scheana defended herself on her Instagram Stories, stating that taking the photo was simply a gesture of goodwill towards the fan who was celebrating her birthday. She emphasized that they were filming a show and that adults should understand the concept of acting professionally.

Brock, aged 33, also chimed in on Friday to clarify the events of the evening, stating on his Instagram Stories that they were "caught in a moment with a fan."

Reflecting on the dichotomy of public life, Brock acknowledged the love and support received, but also addressed the hurtful comments, particularly towards his wife. He expressed how personal and piercing these comments can be.

In his social media statement, Brock emphasized the authenticity of "Vanderpump Rules," highlighting that it depicts real individuals, genuine friendships, and authentic emotions that have developed over the course of 15 years. He wanted to remind everyone that the show is not merely for entertainment purposes, but rather a significant part of their lives that viewers have grown to appreciate.

Brock responded strongly to the negative messages aimed at Scheana for appearing to spend time with Sandoval instead of her best friend Ariana.

"We are not just posing for pictures. We are living our lives and sharing our experiences," emphasized the Australian native. "It's about time we prioritize respect and understanding, not only for the 'characters' you see on TV, but for the actual individuals behind them. Let's make this community authentic, just like the friendships you watch. Let's make it even better."

The group's friendship shattered in March when news emerged that Ariana and Sandoval ended their relationship due to his affair with Raquel, which began during Scheana and Brock's wedding weekend.

Filming for Vanderpump Rules season 11 commenced earlier this month, and Ariana chose not to film any scenes involving Sandoval or Raquel. (Raquel allegedly left a mental health treatment facility in July but has not confirmed her return for the upcoming episodes.)

Ariana expressed her disinterest in reconnecting with her ex-boyfriend and Raquel on camera in a May interview with The New York Times. She stated that their show focuses on a genuine group of friends, and since neither of them are part of that group, she wishes them good luck. On the other hand, Brock and Scheana are keeping the possibility of reconciling with the TomTom cofounder open.

"Absolutely, I do miss my friendship with Sandoval. However, it's incredibly frustrating that he chose to do this. I cannot simply forgive him, and I believe nobody in our group will simply forgive and move on," confessed Brock on his wife's "Scheananigans" podcast episode. "We are hoping to have conversations about this, and hopefully, they will happen during the summer. We'll see how it unfolds."

He further added, "Honestly, I genuinely miss the camaraderie between Scheana, Sandoval, and me. That's why this situation feels so strange. I miss the friendship we had. But let me be clear, I absolutely do not support his actions. Therefore, we need to find a middle ground in order to rebuild our friendship."
