The Release Date of Zack Snyder's Director's Cut of Rebel Moon

Fans of director Zack Snyder are eagerly awaiting the release of the director's cut for Rebel Moon While Part One, titled A Child of Fire, is available on Netflix now, the question remains: when will the Rebel Moon director's cut be unleashed? Stay tuned for updates!

Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire is now available on Netflix, but Zack Snyder's fans are eagerly anticipating the release of the director's cut. Snyder is known for his director's cuts, such as the alternate versions of Watchmen, including an ordinary director's cut and a massive Ultimate Cut with additional content.

Batman vs Superman initially disappointed, but its Blu-ray release was an improvement. The Snyder Cut of Justice League, once thought impossible, was given the green light by HBO and received rave reviews. Netflix has asked Snyder to create two versions of Rebel Moon - a PG-13 edit and a longer R-rated cut. When will it be released?

Is there a Rebel Moon director’s cut release date?

Snyder’s director’s cut of Rebel Moon Part 1 will be released sometime in 2024, but we don’t have an exact date.

Next year's release window for Part 2 is still undecided. It may be out as early as February or March, but this is just a guess. It definitely seems like it will be worth waiting for though – you can read our interview with the cast talking about how great it's going to be. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Snyder expressed his excitement, saying: "This was the first time I had ever been able to make a movie and plan for that. The cut was not me fighting with them like, ‘Okay, you won’t do what I want. Can I at least release it on DVD?’ It was us going together."

I am extremely proud of the PG-13 version, as it appeals to a wider audience and captures a timeless, mythological scope. The alternate version is fun and subversive, providing a different take on the story. An R-rated sci-fi movie of this magnitude should not even exist.

And it's not just a few extra minutes, it's a whole hour longer. There are significant portions of the movie that are completely different.

Rebel Moon is on Netflix now. You can check out our review of the movie here, and our other coverage here.

Editor's P/S

As a Gen Z netizen, I am eagerly anticipating the release of Zack Snyder's director's cut of Rebel Moon. Snyder's director's cuts have a reputation for being superior to the theatrical releases, and I am confident that his vision for Rebel Moon will be no exception. I am particularly excited about the prospect of an R-rated cut, as it will allow Snyder to fully explore the darker and more mature themes of the story. I believe that the director's cut of Rebel Moon has the potential to be a truly epic and unforgettable cinematic experience.

I am also impressed by Snyder's commitment to creating two versions of the film, one that is PG-13 and one that is R-rated. This shows that he is mindful of the different preferences of his audience and wants to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy his film. I believe that this is a commendable approach, and I hope that other filmmakers will follow his example.
