In the previous episode, Dean Shetty and Doctor Cardosa bear the blame for the supe student's demise, resulting from their minor elevation of the Virus' potency. The quest to make it contagious is at the core of the second-to-last chapter.

Desiring assistance, she approaches Grace Mallory, a familiar acquaintance, but their encounter falls short of her expectations. As Shetty departs, Mallory engages in a phone conversation - the identity of the person remains a mystery.

Who did Grace Mallory speak to on the phone in Gen V Episode 7?

We’re betting that Grace Mallory was speaking to Billy Butcher on the phone in Gen V Episode 7.

There are alternate choices available. Grace has previously collaborated with Victoria Neuman, so it is plausible that she has known about the Woods and the Virus for a considerable period of time, given her calm reaction to Marie's revelation. It is also a possibility that one of the other Boys, such as Hughie, MM, or even Annie, could be involved.

However, Butcher appears to be the most likely candidate, primarily due to his extensive history with Mallory. He has always served as her foremost enforcer, despite some tension between them in Season 3 (particularly after she criticized him, stating that he was just as bad as his father). Therefore, it would be the most logical choice.

Past Butcher may have had the inclination to eradicate all the supes worldwide, thus potentially aligning him more closely with Dean Shetty. However, his priorities are now influenced by the presence of Ryan, despite being captivated by Homelander.
