Explosive Collaboration: The Boys Meet Call of Duty

Get ready for an epic crossover as Call of Duty and The Boys team up to bring you new operator characters from the hit Amazon series Fans of both will be excited to see how this collaboration plays out in the game

A new collaboration between Call of Duty and Amazon's hit superhero series, The Boys, appears to be on the horizon. The unveiling of the Season 4 trailer for Call of Duty at Summer Game Fest showcased a vibrant new battle royale map, Vondel, expected to feature in Warzone 2. Since the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot, Call of Duty has established a reputation for hosting collaborations with popular characters from the film industry. Black Ops Cold War, for example, saw the inclusion of horror icons such as Ghostface, Jigsaw, and Leatherface, as well as 80s action heroes like Rambo and John McClane. More recently, Call of Duty: Vanguard has added figures like King Kong, Godzilla, and the Terminator to its roster of operators. The latest major collaboration sees Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles joining Modern Warfare 2.

Speculation is rife that a collaboration between Call of Duty and The Boys is on the cards, following an exchange of memes on Twitter. After The Boys pointed out a building in the trailer for Warzone 2's Vondel map that had the show's logo spray-painted onto it, Call of Duty responded with a Captain Price meme, suggesting that a partnership is highly likely. While it's unclear what form the collaboration would take, it's possible that characters from The Boys could be added to the operator roster in a similar vein to other film tie-ins. Homelander, the face of the series, would be a strong candidate for inclusion, and there's also potential for Billy Butcher and Soldier Boy to make an appearance. Homelander has already been linked with a role in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 game, alongside other anti-hero characters such as DC's Peacemaker and Invincible's Omni Man.

The popular non-Marvel superhero franchise, The Boys, is set to make its entry into the gaming world with Call of Duty and Mortal Kombat 1. While it is uncertain when The Boys will be joining Call of Duty, fans can expect more information to be revealed as Call of Duty Season 4 commences on June 14. Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is already available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
