Loki Season 2 Episode 3 introduced viewers to Victor Timely, an inventor from Chicago. However, let's delve deeper into his character and background. In addition to Victor, several other intriguing characters have joined the cast of Loki Season 2, including a peculiar inventor and a former soldier-turned-movie star.
Here's everything we know about Victor Timely, the shady new character introduced in the show's third episode. He is an inventor based in 1800s Chicago, but fans are now questioning his role in the Loki universe.
Who is Victor Timely in Loki Season 2?
Victor Timely is a variant of Kang the Conqueror aka He Who Remains who has been tapped to take over the position of master of the multiverse.
According to Polygon, Victor is a self-created persona by Kang, who traveled back in time from the distant future to the 20th century. His motive was to gain control in that era and prepare for the upcoming age of superheroes by establishing a position of power.
In the comic storyline, Victor's exceptional intellect empowered him to alter the course of the Industrial Revolution's history, surpassing renowned inventors of the time like Thomas Edison. Through his brilliance and charisma, Victor successfully seized control and renamed the town of Timely, Wisconsin.
Though Victor has only made one appearance thus far, it appears that Loki Season 2 is continuing to portray him as a Kang variant. However, this is where the similarities seem to diverge.
In Loki, Victor is portrayed as a con man rather than a highly intelligent bully, as he sells dysfunctional inventions at exorbitant prices. In comparison to He Who Remains, Victor's capabilities seem insignificant. However, it is possible that this persona is merely an act, as He Who Remains cautioned Loki and Sylvie about the untrustworthiness of many of his alternate versions. Only time will reveal the true extent of Victor's potential as a threat.
