In the thrilling season 3 finale, which aired in October 2023, the focus centered around Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin), and Oliver (Martin Short) as they embarked on a mission to apprehend the killer of Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd). Their investigation ultimately led them to Donna (Linda Emond) and her son, Cliff (Wesley Taylor), who were revealed as the masterminds behind the failed poisoning attempt and the actual murder.

After Donna and Cliff are arrested, Oliver's opening night proves to be a success and the trio celebrates. "There's clearly something bothering her—enough for her to potentially convey a message through the season's final shot, aiming to share some crucial information.
