Pedro Pascal, the beloved star of The Mandalorian, is set to bring the popular Star Wars series to the big screen. The 48-year-old actor will lead the film titled The Mandalorian and Grogu, a new chapter in the Star Wars universe. The feature film will expand upon the success of the television show, which has received acclaim and commercial success since its premiere in 2019. Other actors from previous Star Wars media have also appeared, such as Timothy Olyphant, Katee Sackhoff, Rosario Dawson, and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker.
While it's uncertain where the film will fit into the television show’s three season timeline, with season four currently in development, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy expressed excitement for the project from Favreau and Ashoka creator Dave Filoni in a statement. "Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have introduced two new and beloved characters into Star Wars, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen," Kennedy said.
