Discover all the details about the horror spinoff film A Quiet Place: Day One, including its release date, cast, plot, and more.
Although widely recognized as Jim, the mischievous and nonchalant prankster on The Office, John Krasinski has successfully transitioned into a new phase of his career, establishing himself as an action star through his roles in 13 Hours and Jack Ryan.
Notably, in 2018, he helmed A Quiet Place, the initial installment of Paramount's immensely successful horror franchise. The film has garnered over $630 million in global box-office earnings and its sequel, Part II, has also been well-received by critics.
Currently, there are plans for a spinoff called A Quiet Place Day One, as well as a third installment. Let's delve into what we currently know about these upcoming movies.

A Quiet Place Day One release: When is it coming out?
A Quiet Place: Day One is due for release on June 28, 2024.
The spinoff's original release date of September 2023 was pushed back by Paramount Pictures in July. It was set to compete with Disney's The Magician's Elephant and an unspecified wide release from Universal Pictures. However, Paramount later changed the release date to March 8, 2024, as part of a larger studio shake-up.
As for A Quiet Place Part III, it is scheduled to be released in 2025. John Krasinski will return to direct, and Emily Blunt is set to star once again. While it is believed to be the final installment of the trilogy, this has not been confirmed.
A Quiet Place Day One cast: Who’s in it?
For A Quiet Place Day One, the cast has recruited two notable actors: Lupita Nyong'o, an Academy Award winner, and Joseph Quinn, who is well-known for his role in Stranger Things Season 4. Currently, no additional cast members for the spinoff have been announced.
This comes after Nyong’o returned to the MCU as Nakia in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, although it’s unclear what lies ahead for her character in future movies.
Quinn, who gained immense popularity for his breakout role as Eddie Munson, has recently joined talent agency CAA. He is already being hailed as one of the show's most iconic characters.
Pig's Michael Sarnoski will be responsible for both writing and directing A Quiet Place: Day One. Jeff Nichols, known for directing Midnight Special and Mud, was initially chosen for the project but withdrew from its development in October of last year.
A Quiet Place Day One plot: What’s it about?
Krasinski has chosen to keep the plot details of A Quiet Place Day One under wraps, leaving us in the dark about the spinoff's content and its place in the franchise's timeline.
Deadline reported that there is limited information available about this project. However, it has been revealed that it is not a third installment but rather a spinoff, with an idea originating from John Krasinski, the director and star of the first two films.
The objective of this film is to establish a potential Quiet Place universe that the studio can expand upon in the future. Additionally, while the return of Emily Blunt and Krasinski in their original roles is not completely ruled out, it is unlikely to happen in this particular installment.
The video suggests that we will be introduced to a fresh set of characters as the extraterrestrials make their presence known, potentially on Earth, and the resulting disarray in society, reminiscent of the initial flashback in the sequel.
In a previous interview on the Empire podcast, Krasinski discussed the genesis of the creatures and the initial response from the world when they were set loose. He explained that they are undeniably extraterrestrial beings, originating from another planet. Rather than following the common theme of alien invasion and strategic agendas seen in most alien movies, Krasinski desired to depict them as predatory, parasitical entities that disrupt a delicate ecosystem.
“I recall a horrendous joke that I once made, which involved likening it to releasing wolves into a daycare center. It's vulgar and unsettling, yet sadly a true reflection of how the world reacts.”
