Kaitlyn Dever joins the cast of The Last of Us Season 2, adding her talent to the highly anticipated series adaptation of the beloved video game

"The Last of Us" is getting a new cast member.

Kaitlyn Dever is joining the hit HBO series in the role of Abby, producers announced.

"Our casting process for season two has followed the same approach as season one: seeking out top-tier actors who truly capture the essence of the characters in the original material," shared series co-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann with Variety. "Talent is paramount, and we're delighted to welcome acclaimed performer Kaitlyn to join Pedro, Bella, and the rest of our ensemble."

"Pedro" refers to Pedro Pascal, who plays Joel on the series, and "Bella" is Bella Ramsey, known for her role as Ellie. Both have garnered award nominations for their outstanding performances in the beloved show.

Dever shared a screen grab the story on her verified Instagram account.

"So excited to join the family," the caption reads.
