This formidable character engages in a captivating clash with the valiant Kyojuro Rengoku. Prior to his transformation into a demon, Akaza was an immensely skilled martial artist. However, much like the other demons in the Demon Slayer series, Akaza carried the burden of a tragic past.
In his childhood, Akaza found himself compelled to steal medicine in a desperate attempt to save his dying father. Tragically, his efforts were in vain, leaving him devastated. Additionally, he suffered heart-wrenching losses, as his beloved martial arts instructor, Keizo, and his fiancée, Koyuki, perished due to the malicious actions of a rival dojo that contaminated their water well. This tumultuous period marked a turning point for Akaza, fueling an intense hatred towards humanity.
Remarkably, even as a human, Akaza possessed an indomitable spirit, which persisted when Muzan recognized his extraordinary strength and transformed him into a powerful demon.
Upper Moon 3
Upon transforming into a demon, Akaza's human memories faded away, leaving behind a brutal killing machine. A formidable martial artist, he thirsted for combat and held disdain for those he deemed weak. Remarkably, he possessed the uncanny ability to gauge his opponent's strength with a mere glance. During their intense battle, Akaza persistently urged Rengoku to embrace the demon within. Driven by an unwavering desire to achieve the pinnacle of power as Upper Moon Three, he harbored contempt for his fellow Upper Moons, Doma and Kokushibo.
Even though Akaza boasted about his numerous killings of demon slayers and Hashiras throughout his years, he remains adamant about adhering to his own set of principles when it comes to selecting his victims. Despite recognizing that eliminating women could potentially enhance his own strength, he adamantly refuses to harm them. Additionally, amidst the fiery chaos of battle, Akaza finds it within himself to praise his adversaries who can effectively withstand his relentless onslaught, paying homage to their impressive power.
Fighting Style And Demon Blood Art
Akaza is widely known as the demon responsible for the death of Kyojuro Rengoku, the Flame Hashira. If it weren't for the rising sun, he would have also succeeded in eliminating Tanjiro and the other demon slayers. Akaza's prowess as a martial artist, coupled with his mastery of the Soryu Style, allowed him to amplify his power and refine his technique after becoming a demon. The Soryu Style is centered around an unarmed combat method that utilizes the user's limbs to execute devastating punches and kicks against an opponent's weapon.
Akaza possesses the ability to detect his opponent's fighting spirit, allowing him to predict and exploit their weaknesses. This gives him a significant advantage in combat as he can easily evade attacks. His extrasensory perception enables him to locate his opponent quickly and react swiftly to counter or dodge their strikes, giving him a tactical edge. Moreover, Akaza exhibits exceptional durability and the ability to regenerate, illustrated when he effortlessly regrows his severed arms during his battle against Rengoku.
As the Upper Moon 3 Demon, Akaza demonstrates incredible strength and lightning-fast reflexes. He maintains an impressive level of stamina throughout his fights, rarely showing signs of fatigue. To illustrate his immense power, Akaza withstands Rengoku's devastating Rising Scorching Sun technique, regenerating his damaged arm. Furthermore, he withstands Tanjiro's formidable headbutt attack, a feat only accomplished by a few demons. Akaza's ability to endure intense pain without flinching stems from his childhood experiences, where he became desensitized to constant beatings before his transformation into a demon.
Using his blood demon art abilities, Akaza possesses the power to utilize a technique called Destructive Death. This technique combines the Soryu Style and blood demon art, enabling Akaza to project devastating shockwaves at his adversaries using his kicks and punches. Another blood demon art technique in his arsenal is the Compass Needle. Utilizing this technique, Akaza can meticulously analyze his opponent, identifying their vulnerabilities and exploiting them. The effectiveness of the Compass Needle increases with the strength of the opponent, allowing for the detection of potential weak points. Once identified, Akaza can precisely target these weak points, inflicting damage and weakening his adversary. Remarkably, Akaza is capable of continuing to fight even after his head has been severed, making him an exceptionally formidable opponent.
