More than 22 years later, Aidan and Carrie are still looking good — they even wore their Sex and the City outfits to remind Us.

In episode 9 of Max's And Just Like That season 2, Aidan (played by John Corbett) relaxes in his underwear at their AirBnB, while Carrie (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) sports a sheer dress that exposes her black lingerie. They receive an eviction notice for surpassing the 30-day limit, leading Carrie to contemplate making a significant change to accommodate Aidan in her life.

This clothing choice is reminiscent of Sex and the City season 4, episode 14, where Aidan once again dons his white briefs and Carrie wears a see-through dress adorned with hot pink underwear when she returns home.

The And Just Like That Twitter account responded to a tweet acknowledging the homage on Saturday, August 12, stating, "The attention to detail is evident."

Although the outfits remain unchanged, there is a notable contrast in Carrie's mindset. In the 2001 episode, she expresses concerns about her ability to embrace a calm life with Aidan, whereas in 2023, Carrie is eager to find a new apartment that accommodates Aidan and his three sons, given his refusal to enter her previous residence.

To Aidan's utter surprise, Carrie had returned to the very apartment they once shared— a property he had once owned for a significant period, over twenty years ago. However, as he attempted to renovate the space, the dilapidated walls seemed to symbolize the deterioration of their relationship. Consequently, when Aidan brought Carrie back to the apartment in And Just Like That, he adamantly refused to revisit the place where their romance had hit its lowest point.

"He said to Carrie, 'While sitting at the restaurant, a sense of nostalgia engulfed me. It felt wonderful to be back where we began.' However, it dawned on him that this was actually where their journey came to an end. He expressed frustration, acknowledging the metaphorical wall that he felt unable to overcome and recalling the disappointment of the poorly renovated floors. 'Everything feels tainted,' he confessed to her.

'Perhaps time alone is not enough to mend all wounds,' she responded."

Instead of leaving Carrie, Aidan proposes that they book a hotel room. Their relationship has flourished since then, causing Carrie to question whether she made a significant error in choosing Big over Aidan initially.

Showrunner Michael Patrick King subtly indicated that Aidan is here to stay. In a June interview with The New York Times, King hinted, "I didn't bring Aidan back to see him fail."
