The cluttered appearance of the Windows 11 taskbar can be attributed in part to the presence of the Chat button, a shortcut to Microsoft Teams. However, this button is now being eliminated and replaced with a more discreet version of the app.
In the latest Insider build, Microsoft is making preparations to remove the Chat feature from Windows 11. Currently, the Chat experience involves Microsoft Teams being integrated directly into the operating system, and if users wish to remove it, they must navigate to the Settings. Given that it is not particularly useful for business calls, which is the primary purpose of Teams, it is likely that many users simply overlook its presence.
The Chat experience for Insiders is being replaced with a more versatile and standard app for Microsoft Teams. This new app is compatible with Windows 10 and will still be included in Windows 11. However, it will now be easier to ignore if you choose not to use it. On the other hand, if you need to use it for business purposes, it will be much more useful. Microsoft has plans to enhance the Teams app with new features and improvements in the future. Keep an eye out for this improvement, as it will be rolled out to all users in the next few weeks or months.
