Decker shared the story of how their relationship began during an interview with the Tennis Channel in July 2017. She explained that while she was hosting a football show for Sports Illustrated, Roddick would tune in every week. Intrigued but skeptical, she initially ignored his attorney's attempts to reach out. However, after five months, her now-manager convinced her to give him a chance, describing him as a genuinely kind person. At the time, she was living in New York and feeling isolated from her friends in North Carolina, where she grew up.
The couple started their relationship in 2007, almost a year before Roddick proposed. They got married in April 2008.
Roddick and Decker, who have a son named Hank and a daughter named Stevie, make efforts to maintain their passionate connection.

Andy Roddick fell hard for Brooklyn Decker after their first meeting — and their romance has only gotten stronger.
"I hosted a football show for Sports Illustrated, and he was a regular viewer. Eventually, he had his attorney contact my agent. I found it suspicious, as anyone would. So, I ignored his call for five months. During that time, I was living in New York. However, my now-manager suggested that I reach out to him, mentioning that he was supposedly a nice person. At the time, I had very few friends in New York, as most of them were back in North Carolina where I grew up."
"The two of us started dating in 2007, almost a year before Roddick proposed. We eventually tied the knot in April 2008."
Roddick and Decker, who have a son named Hank and a daughter named Stevie, make a continual effort to maintain a thriving relationship.

While balancing the busy careers and raising two kids, Roddick found time to share the key to the pair’s lasting romance.
"Honestly, while not necessarily romantic, it is crucial to make a schedule," revealed the former US Open champion in an interview with Us. "To be completely honest, our lives mainly revolve around our children and our careers. Nonetheless, we make a conscious effort to allocate specific time for ourselves, like planning a date night on a Wednesday. It gives us an opportunity to appreciate each other's company without the presence of our children, and relish the freedom of not constantly tidying up after them, unless necessary. Therefore, scheduling plays a significant role in managing our busy lives, especially since we have a couple of kids."

"[Marriage] does become quite transactional," Decker revealed exclusively to Us in April 2022, discussing the delicate balance between their relationship and the responsibility of raising two children. "It's like, 'I'll take care of the kids, you handle buying the tampons and diapers.' ... It's almost like devising a strategy for a football game. We draw up plans and assign tasks accordingly."
