Given his recent appearance in The Book of Boba Fett, it's understandable why Star Wars opted for a cautious approach with his character in Ahsoka. From a narrative perspective, with his responsibilities as a new father and a mentor to Grogu, Din was probably occupied with accompanying the young apprentice on their journeys or fulfilling any tasks Carson had assigned him while the New Republic ranger was assisting Hera.

As Din Djarin so famously stated, "Wherever I go, he goes." It's clear that if Din didn't make an appearance in Ahsoka, then Grogu didn't either. It would have been incredibly heartwarming to witness the long-awaited reunion between Ahsoka and Grogu. With Sabine now embracing her role as a Mandalorian Jedi alongside Grogu, this unlikely duo truly deserves to meet one day. However, this particular story wasn't the right time for their encounter. Rest assured, though, as the opportunity will undoubtedly present itself in the future. Grogu has been preoccupied with his training as an apprentice, and even though he and Din didn't embark on an adventure during this period, they deserved some peace and tranquility in their new cabin on Nevarro, especially after all the trials they endured in Season 3 of The Mandalorian.

Despite making his live-action debut in the Clone Wars flashbacks of Ahsoka episode 5, the character of Rex as seen in Rebels was unfortunately not able to make an appearance in this particular story. This is a disappointment, especially considering the close relationship between Ahsoka and Rex, and the fact that actor Temuera Morrison was willing to portray Rex in live-action. Currently, it remains unknown where exactly Rex is, as he was last seen fighting in the Battle of Endor.
