In an interview with ScreenRant, Ariana DeBose (Asha) discussed her favorite song to record for the soundtrack, "At All Costs." She described it as a beautiful and unsuspecting ballad that allowed her to fully immerse herself in the emotions while singing in the booth. She also expressed her love for "Knowing What I Know Now," noting that everyone needs an anthem right now and that the song provides a place to channel rage.

The Wish album features songs with lyrics and partial music written by Julia Michaels and contributing music by Benjamin Rice.
