Actor Antony Starr has revealed that filming Homelander's cameo in The Boys was quite challenging, primarily because of one difficult stunt. In recently released footage by Culture Crave on X (formerly Twitter), Starr can be seen securely harnessed in for a stunt where Homelander makes a grand entrance on the God U campus. However, as he is being lifted higher into the air for the flying scene, the actor from New Zealand expresses his frustration with a few selected swear words.
Speaking in another tweet, Culture Crave quotes Starr expressing his regret for agreeing to perform the stunt. He stated, "That's the face of a man who went way too high into the sky and really wishes he had let the stunt guy do it," adding, "I genuinely don't know how I managed not to pee my suit. Or worse."
Additionally, Starr took to his Instagram to share some behind-the-scenes photos from the filming of the season finale. Alongside the pictures, he captioned, "Face of regret. The place I went that caused the regret….high… The boss who also regretted placing his actor that high." Despite the challenging stunt, the actor mentioned he had an enjoyable time on Gen V with the younglings.
The Boys, the popular Amazon Prime series, has been renewed for a fourth season set to premiere next year. Fans can expect to see the consequences of the Gen V events unfolding in the upcoming season. Additionally, a second season of Gen V has been approved, but no official release date has been announced yet.
