The official website and X (formerly Twitter) handle of The Blue Wolves of Mibu anime announced on December 21, 2023 that the show is set to premiere in Fall 2024. In addition, they also unveiled a new teaser visual, introduced a new cast member, and released a video featuring the main cast and their voice actors.
Based on Tsuyoshi Yasuda's samurai manga series of the same name, The Blue Wolves of Mibu anime has been serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine since October 2021. The manga series currently has 11 Tankobon volumes and announced its anime adaptation in September 2023, to be produced by Maho Film Studio.

The official team of The Blue Wolves of Mibu anime has announced that the show will be released in Fall 2024, with a potential release date in October. In addition, a teaser visual has been revealed, depicting the Shinsengumi members at their Yagi residence in Kyoto, including the main characters Nio Chirinu and Kamo Sherizawa.

The character is depicted as an honorable leader who unites the members of the Shinsengumi. Sugita-san also expressed fervent admiration for the character, stating: "Under the banner of Sincerity, patriots with true souls gather. Will you entrust me with your life? In celebration of the finalization of the cast, a promotional video has been unveiled, showcasing all seven characters alongside their voice actors. The brief video displays the actors adorned in traditional attire that complements the theme of the anime.

The anime stars Shuichiro Umeda as Nio Chirinu, Kensho Ono as Soji Okita, Yohei Azakami as Toshizo Hijikata, Chiaki Kobayashi as Hajime Saito, Shun Horie as Taro Tanaka, Ryota Takeuchi as Kamo Sherizawa, and Tomokazu Sugita as Isami Kondo.
