Street Fighter 6, from Capcom, received critical acclaim upon its release in June, and Mortal Kombat 1 is set to launch this September. Although the release of Tekken 8 is not in the same timeframe, it is highly anticipated by many.

Throughout 2023, the roster for Tekken 8 has been gradually disclosed, featuring the return of numerous characters from previous installments. This includes beloved characters like Kazuya Mishima, Jin Kazama, and King, as well as more recent additions like Claudio Serafino and Leroy Smith from Tekken 7. Tekken 8 also marks the triumphant return of Jun Kazama, a character absent from the mainline games for over a decade. Recently, Bandai Namco showcased two additional character trailers at the EVO fighting game tournament, featuring the aforementioned Raven and a new character named Azucena.

Raven, an enigmatic secret agent ninja for the United Nations, was initially introduced in Tekken 5. Although he was replaced by his superior, Master Raven, in Tekken 7, he returns in Tekken 8 with his trademark Ninjutsu fighting style. Raven excels at close quarters combat, swiftly confronting his opponent in battle. Additionally, he possesses a multitude of ninja art techniques, utilizing shadow clones to strike his foe.

Meanwhile, Azucena, the first Peruvian character in Tekken, makes a grand entrance in this game. Known as the "Coffee Queen," her passion for coffee is evident in her dialogue and in-game title as the "Perfect Blend." However, Azucena is not solely a connoisseur but also a skilled fighter. Using a dance-inspired moveset, she gracefully navigates and deceives her opponents, showcasing her unique style. With her arrival, Azucena has garnered immense popularity among fans, particularly those from Latin America.

The two trailers showcased the game's stage destruction mechanics, where the battlefield transitioned to different locations after the opponent sustained a certain level of damage. Prior to these trailers, the original roster of Tekken 8 was leaked online through the Cheat Engine and datamining of the beta version. Raven was included as a potential character in the leaked build, but Azucena was not. While there is compelling evidence supporting the legitimacy of the leak, fans should remain vigilant for official announcements and potential surprises. Tekken 8 is currently being developed for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
