Tekken 8 is scheduled to be released early in 2024 and is highly anticipated by fans.

Following the events of Tekken 7, which saw Kazuya Mishima emerge victorious over Heihachi Mishima, the story of Tekken 8 focuses on Kazuya's son, Jin Kazuma, the sole remaining member of the Mishima bloodline. The game appears to be building up to an epic confrontation between father and son, with the participation of Jin's long-lost mother, Jun Kazuma. To address any concerns about similarity to Tekken 7's story mode, Bandai Namco has assured fans that Tekken 8's story mode will be even more expansive than its predecessor.

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Tekken 8's development producer, Kohei Ikeda, and marketing producer, Naoya Yasuda, provided insights on the game's story mode. According to them, thanks to a considerably larger budget, Tekken 8's story mode will surpass the scale of its predecessor, Tekken 7. Yasuda even reminisced about the moment they received confirmation of the budget allocated for the story mode, amusingly laughing at the impressive sum.

Ikeda was amazed by the extensive amount of content they had created for the storyline of the game, especially considering the large character roster of Tekken 8, which includes 32 different fighters. He found it challenging to connect them all in his mind, but acknowledged that the essence of fighting games lies in the charisma of its characters, and he hoped that the team had successfully showcased the best of each character.

In Tekken 7, the story mode consisted of fourteen chapters, offering approximately 3-4 hours of gameplay, as stated by HowLongToBeat.com. Based on what has been revealed about Tekken 8's storyline, it is likely that fans can expect a larger and more cinematic story mode, featuring encounters with various Tekken fighters and culminating in the anticipated showdown between father and son. However, the game will not solely rely on single player content, as it will also feature the traditional Arcade mode, along with a unique Arcade Quest mode.

Tekken 8 will launch on January 26, 2024 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
